New York 2002
kingston-upon-hull
staten island ferry & downtown manhattan
The last page - more Circle Line photos, this time of the Statue of Liberty which is closed to the public at the moment, and the Staten Island Ferry. This is another thing the visitor to New York must try out especially the traveller on a shoestring as it costs absolutely nothing. We travelled on it as the sun was going down one night, with Chris and Connie. Unfortunately, the photos didn't come out, but the Manhattan skyline at night is simply stunning as you might well expect. There were two large spotlights marking the spot where the World Trade Center stood, just shining up to the clouds which impressed us greatly and seemed a fitting and simple memorial to the thousands who died on September the 11th.

Last, but by no means least, I must say a big thank you to Chris and Connie for driving us around, feeding us, traipsing round outlet malls behind us, queueing in queues for us and generally making our stay in the States so enjoyable. Thanks guys! Look forward to seeing you again soon.
Selected other places we visited (not pictured):

Macy's
Bloomingdale's
Katz's Diner
Grand Central Station
Times Square
Toys R Us - Times Sq (the world's largest)
Greenwich Village

we flew with
American Airlines and we bought our return tickets for the ridiculously cheap price of 210 each from www.wefly.co.uk
