Notice the picture of downtown Manhattan, now without the twin towers. One of the strangest things we came across was people who'd been to see Ground Zero and bought the T-shirt. I know the proceeds go to the New York Fire Department and I know going to see the site of an atrocity is a way of paying respect for many people, but we deliberately didn't go to see it as it would have felt voyeuristic, and I found the T-shirts a tad distasteful. After all, you wouldn't buy Auschwitz or Treblinka T-shirts would you?
