The Renaissance festival is your new best friend. Honestly. The jewlery they have is perfect. You can also purchase custom corsets and, depending on the seamstress, waist sinchers.
Thrift stores are great. I found an absolutely perfect EGA skirt in a store around here called Killer Trash. They also usually have petticoats from wedding dresses for cheap. It's easier than making your own, and is an essential for some EGA outfits.
Look around. Ask around. My Great-Aunt's mother-in-law was an excellent seamstress. Buttons gallore. I went searching through my grandmother's house for a seam-ripper and found the metal bars from her old corset. Since I'm the same size she was when she was younger, I will use them when my sewing skills have improved.
Moral of the story: You never know what you can find.
