She had long been interested in public service, volunteering in the Refugee Relief Movement as a youth. Her efforts helped in the Shadda-Bi-Boran exodus. Background Information:
When Senator Padm?Amidala was revealed to have died during the tumultuous events that saw the rise of the Galactic Empire, all of Naboo entered into a period of deep mourning. The much beloved former Queen was laid to rest on her homeworld, the subject of an enormous state funeral that filled the avenues of Theed with thousands of tearful subjects. The funeral procession included the current Queen of Naboo, the 13-year old successor to Queen Jamillia.

During the events precipitating the start of the Clone Wars, Jedi Master Shaak Ti sat on the Council. She was an exotic alien female with colorful patterning decorating her flexible lekku. Shaak Ti was one of the 200 Jedi that traveled to Geonosis on a mission to rescue captives from the growing Separatist forces. She was regarded as one of the most cunning warriors in the Jedi order.
