"Crocodilian" destroyer intelligence report.
Star Fleet Intelligence (SFI) has given this report a 50% reliability rating.

Update: In 2374, Starfleet engineers were permitted to examine several Gorn vessels including a mothballed "Crocodilian", as part of a technology exchange program. The engineers found that this type of vessel is called "Hchoss tchs'chra", (translation: "Dangerous animal with sharp teeth and claws"). SFI Has upgraded this report to a 95% reliability rating.

About Ship: The Crocodilian destroyer is an enlarged version of the Iguana Frigate. It was introduced shortly before the Megalosaur Heavy cruiser was introduced, and performed both exploration and military duties.

The hull is constructed of a ceramic composite substrate covered with overlapping armor plates of monocrystalline alloy. The armor plates are embedded with a system of microcircuitry that is similar to the Federation's multifunction phased array. This means the ship's entire outer hull is an emitter and receptor for sensors, and can emit tractor or deflector beams, as well. As the technology was not fully-developed at the time the Crocodilian entered production, the forward structure of the hull also mounts two supplemental sensor arrays, flanking a navigational deflector.

The Crocodilian served until it was replaced by a more modern design in 2295. Some Crocodilians have been converted to transports, and are still in service. These transports have had two of the lasers removed, along with the missile launcher.
