Chapter 4

The Next Day

I stayed up all night pacing waiting for Dom who never showed up. I was worried sick. "EVE! Sit down! Dom's a big boy. He'll be OK." Elijah said. "Hannah's gone too. How are you not concerned?" I asked. "Because they are a big boy and girl! They can handle themselves." He said. I heard the door open, and Dom walked into the dining room. It was 12:30 PM. "DOMINIC! Where have you been?" I asked angerly. "Whoa! Back up mom!" He said. "I've been worried sick!" I said. "Why? I'm here now." He said. "That's a good thing because if you do that to me again Dominic I will hit you so hard your dog will become retarded." I said. He laughed, patted my arm, and walked into the kitchen. "Elijah I think your friend's gonna have an ulcer." He said. "She's been spazing." Elijah said. "I'm him here, I can hear both of you perfectly." I said. I opened the cupboard, and saw the cereal on the top shelve. I started jumping up and down trying to grab it every time I was in the air. "Lij, hun, why would you put the cereal on the TOP shelve? You are short. How do you reach it?" I asked. He laughed. "I use a step stool." He said. "Well, maybe Mr. Tall Dom can help me." I said. Dom walked over and stood on the tip of his toes and grabbed the box. "Thanks." I said. Billy walked in. "Dom, you're back. Where's Hannah?" He asked. "She straight to her room to sleep. We didn't sleep last night." He said. "Hello, that's my SISTER!" Lij said. "No! We didn't do anything, but eat a coffee place, and talk.' Dom said. "So did you tell her?" I asked Dom quietly. He nodded. "She said it back." He said quietly back. I smiled. "So, would you like to share that with the rest of the class?" Billy asked. "Nope." I said. I walked over, and pulled a bowl down. I walked over to the table where I put the box of cereal down. Elijah grabbed me, and pulled me down to his lap. "Did I ever tell you I love you?" He asked. "Once or twice, but I'd let you tell me again." I said. "Oh, you treat me so well." He joked. "Even more reason for you to love me." I said. He kissed my cheek. "I love you." He whispered in my ear. I smiled. "I love you too." I said. Dom looked over at us confused. "Dommy, did I tell you Lij and I got together?" I asked. "No, it must have slipped your mind." He said. The doorbell rang. "Oh! Billy! Go get ready, that's Mindy!" I said jumping off Lij. I ran to the door, and opened it. I didn't care if I was in my turtle pajamas. "Mindy! Come in!" I said. "Nice place, and even better outfit." She joked. "Thanks you like it?" I asked. "It's fabbo." She said. I smiled. "I can't wait to meet him!" She said nervously. I smiled. We walked to the kitchen, and saw Dom and Elijah arm wrestling. "Oh dear God! Mindy, stand back, there just might be a little too much testosterone in this room for us two little girls to handle." I said. She laughed just as Elijah's arm hit the table. "Yeah! I AM THE Master!" Dom said. I looked at him with disbelief. "You guys are weird! Dom I think Orlando might have choked all the air from your brain one of the million times he's tried to choke you!" I joked. Billy walked in. "Mindy, meet my good friend Billy Boyd." I introduced. "Billy, meet Mindy Zimmerman." I said. They shook hands. "Hi, it's a pleasure to meet you." Billy said. "Mine also. I loved you in Lord of the Rings. You really were quite funny." She said. "Thank you." He said. They walked out to the balcony. "I'm good! Oh yeah!" I said. Now it was the guys turn to look at me weird. "Oh stuff it, but of you!" I said. I finally pored my bowl of cereal, and brought it to the table to eat it. "Do you guys want some?" I asked. "Nope." They both said. They just kind of talked about meaningless things while I ate. I had just put my bowl away when Hannah walked in. "Morning sleepy-head, did you sleep well last night?" I asked. "Eve, be nice." Elijah said. "I was only joking mommy!" I said. Hannah smiled. "I slept pretty well, you?" She asked sitting next to Dom. "I didn't sleep at all." I said. "Well, why not?" She asked. "Because Dom never came back here, he's always here when Billy or I am over. I was worried." I said. Dom laughed. "Damn, you really are like my mom." He said. I sat on Lij's lap. "Lijey, hurt Dom, he's being mean!" I said. "I'm not going to hurt Dom!" He said. "Wose." I said. I started clucking. "Chicken." I said. "Does that work in Cedar Rapids?" He asked. I lightly hit on the arm. "I mean it! Stop making fun of Cedar Rapids!" I said. "What are we gonna do today?" I asked. "Well, what do you want to do?" He asked. "Oh, I don't know, as long as it's with you I'd…I'd…clean!" I said. I hate cleaning. He smiled. "I wont make you clean, I'm not that mean." He said. "If you say so." I joked. He pinched my arm. "OWE! You are mean!" I said. He laughed. "We've got to figure something out." He said. "Let's go swimming!" I said. "Sounds good. Do you have a suit?" He asked. "Yes, do you?" I asked. "Yeah, it's a lime green Speedo." He said. "OHH! Sexy! I'm not sure I could handle that one!" I said. "Good, cause I don't have one!" He said. I smiled. "That's OK, I love you anyway." I sad. "Oh, thank you! See I told you, you just treat me too well." He said. I smiled, and gave him a kiss. "WHOA! WHOA! What is going on? THAT WAS NOT A FRIENDLY KISS!" Hannah said shocked. I turned towards Dom and Hannah with my cheeks getting bright red. I totally forgot they were there. Lij cleared his throat. "Well, uh…" He started. "You two are going out now aren't you?" She asked. "Uh…yeah." He said. "PAY UP! I'll have to get Billy's share too." She said to Dom. "You all bet on when we'd get together?" Lij asked. "Yeah, we did." Hannah said. "I can't believe you guys!" I said. They laughed. "Believe it baby." Hannah said. "Oh Hannah, that was sad." I said. She laughed. "I know, wasn't it?" She asked. There was a knock on the door. "Lijey, is it ALWAYS like this?" I asked. "Nope, not always, just when you come over." He joked. I went to the door. "Hello." I said when I opened the door. "Hey!" I said when I saw Sean Astin. "SEAN! It's so nice to see you again. Come in!" I said. Sean walked in. "We're all in the kitchen." I said. We walked into the kitchen. "Who…Sean! Nice to see you chap!" Dom said. "Nice seeing you again Sean, what's it been? A week?" Lij asked. Sean laughed. "Where's Billy? I heard he was coming." Sean said. "Yeah, we're all here for the DVD party thing." Dom said. "What? DVD party?" I asked. "Did I forget to tell you?" Lij asked. "Yeah." I said. "It's tomorrow. I suppose you should find a dress." Elijah said. "Lijey, you're lucky I love you!" I said. He smiled. "I know!" He said. "Well, I'd better go get ready for dress shopping." I said. I told everyone good-bye for the moment, and I walked out of the room and to Lij's room. I took a shower, and got dressed in a cute jean skirt, and a baby-T that was white in the middle with dark green sleeves. Then in dark green in the middle it said Lord of the Rigs. I put my tennis shoes on, and walked into the other room. Elijah was talking to Sean about something the movie, but he stopped when he saw me. I smiled. "Problems Lijey?" I asked. He looked me over then shook his head. "Nope." He said. Then he started talking to Sean again. I stifled a laugh. "Lij, I'm gonna go after I tell Mindy good-bye. Do you mind if I borrow your car?" I asked. "No." he said. I grabbed the keys off the counter-top, and walked out to the back to find Mindy. I saw her sitting, and talking with Billy. "Min, I'm going, I'll see you later. You too Billy." I said. "Bye." They said. I turned and walked back to the kitchen. "Lijey, I'm going." I said. He stood up. "Bye." He said giving me a long kiss. I pulled away. "Your sister, Dom, and Sean are here, and your hand is on my ass." I whispered. He smiled and took it off. "Bye." I said. "Bye guys." I said. I turned and walked away.
