Chapter 3
That Night At 1:30 AM

Elijah walked in the dark house. He looked over on the couch, and saw Forever asleep. He walked over to her and shook her awake. "Lijey?" I asked tiredly. He grabbed my hand. "It's me." He said. "Are we going now?" I asked. "No, I'm sorry Eve, it's 1:30, I had to work late." He said. I looked at him with a mix of sadness and tiredness. "I have to tell you something." I said tiredly. "Tell me tomorrow. You need to go to bed. Come on." He said helping me up. "But, I need to tell you today." I said. He helped me into his bed. "I have to tell you…" I started before I fell asleep. "Night Eve. I love you…" He said going to bed.

The Next Day

I woke up, and saw Elijah asleep next to me. I sat up. "Lijey…Liijey…Liijeey!" I said in his ear. I saw him stir a bit so I got to the end of the bed. I pulled the blanket off his feet, and started to tickle them. He woke up. "What ARE you doing?" He asked. "Getting you up." I said. "Today we're going to talk then we'll get something to eat." He said. I smiled. "OK, get ready, and I'll fix us all something." I said. "Too late." I heard. I looked over at the door, and saw Hannah. "Hey Hannah." Elijah said. "Elijah, what in the world is going on in here?" She asked. My eyes got big, and I shook my head. "We weren't doing anything." I said. "Have you seen Dom?" Hannah asked. "No, but I know where he is. Let me go get him." I said. I got up, and walked to Dom's room. I opened the door, walked in, and shut it. He was staring at the wall in deep thought. "Dommy, what cha doing?" I asked. He looked over at me. "I feel like I did around girls in secondary school." He said. "You're in love." I said. "I know, but how do I tell her?" He asked. "Just tell her." I said. Hannah walked in. "Dom, can we talk?" She asked. I patted his arm, and left.

Two Hours Later

"Elijah, I have to tell you something." I said. We were sitting on a huge rock looking at the ocean. "What is it?" He asked. I took a deep breath. "I love you." I said. "Well, I love you too. Is that all you had to tell me?" He asked confused. "No, Lij. I'm IN love with you." I said. He looked at me with a blank look. I waited for him to say something then I figured it out, he didn't feel the same. I stood up. "I understand, and it's OK. I'm just going to go." I said. I turned around, and walked away.

Later At Elijah's

I walked into the house. "Billy?" I asked looking around. "No one is here, Dom and Hannah went out and Billy is at work." I heard Lij say. I couldn't even look at him. "Please, you didn't let me say anything, you shocked me is all." He said. "I'm listening." I said. "I…well, I love you too. I just don't know how to go about a relationship with you. You're my best friend, and I'm afraid if we don't work out what will happen to our friendship?" He asked. "I feel the same way, but I love you too much to ignore it. So please say you love me." I said. "I love you." He said. I smiled, and did what I've wanted to do for the longest time, I kissed him.

An Hour Later

Billy walked in the house, and saw Elijah and Forever up against the wall kissing. "Whoa! Did I miss something?" He asked. Elijah and I parted, and turned to Billy. I smiled. "Billy!" I said. "Are you two together?" he asked. Elijah nodded. "Congratulations, finally! God, you two take forever to get together." He said. "Huh?" Lij asked. "We all knew you two were in love with each other. We'd been waiting for you two slow-pokes to get together." He said. "Billy, you've been keeping this from me? Why didn't you tell me?" I asked. "Well, I couldn't just tell you. What would I say? 'Are you going out with Elijah yet? We all know you two are in love'." He said. "Oh, good point." I said. I looked at the clock, 10 o'clock. "Dom should be home by now wouldn't you think?" I asked. "Don't worry about him. He's a big boy." Lij said. "LIJEY! Do you realize I love you?" I asked. "Yeah, I do." He said hugging me. "Billy! We need to find you a girl." I said. "Oh…uh…you know I'm really bad around girls. "I've got a friend, she'd be perfect for you!" I said. "Uh…well, OK. Does she live here?" He asked. "Yeah, she's from Iowa. She's really wanting to visit Scotland though." I said. "Really? What's her name?" He asked. "Mindy." I said. Lij looked confused. "You know, brown hair, brown eyes, not too tall, pretty." I said. "Ah yes! Her! Yeah, Billy, you and her will get along great. She's really shy at first though." Elijah explained. "I'll call her tomorrow. She'll be excited to see you. You were her favorite character in Lord of the Rings." I said. "Great!" He said excitedly.
