�Chapter 12
I woke up the next morning as the phone rang. "Hello." I said groggily. "Morning sunshine!" I heard Elijah say. "Why aren't you working?" I asked. "I have the week off because Franka refused to work with me." He said. "Boo hoo for her!" I said. "I'm on my way over." He said. "I'll be here." I said. "See ya soon." He said then he hung up. I yawned and sat up. I brushed my teeth and threw on some old clothes. There was a knock on the door. "Hello." I said opening it. I saw Elijah. I smiled. "Morning." He said. "Uh, how are you feeling good? My head isn't feeling so well." I said. "Take one of these." He said. I took the Extra Strength Tylenol he handed me. "Ok, I got a call from my friend Amy and she wants me to go to see Phantom Planet on Friday. Can we fly to LA and see them?" I asked. "For the weekend?" He asked skeptical. "You're a big actor man, you're used to it." I joked. He laughed. "Who, pray tell, are Phantom Planet?" He asked. I smiled and kinda laughed. "It's a band, Amy is in love with them. They're not bad." I said. "Ok sure, I'll get tickets." He said. "YES! You are the BEST!" I said hugging him. He gave me a kiss, and I kissed him back.
That Friday
The plain landed, and as we got out I spotted Amy right away. "Vary stylish Elijah." She said referring to his sunglasses, baseball hat, T-shirt and jeans. I laughed. "You don't like it? I think he looks sexy." I said. She laughed. "By the way, I'm Amy." She said. "Nice to meet you." Elijah said shaking her hand kindly. "Oh I can't WAIT to see PP tonight." She said. "I know, it'll be great." I said. "So, did you talk to Darren?" I asked. "Yes, he said he'd like to meet you." She said. "Darren?" Elijah asked. "The guitarist of the band." I said. "Oh." He said. I smiled, and grabbed his hand. "Thank you again, Lijey." I said. "You're welcome again." He said. I gave him a kiss. "You two are way too mushy." She said. I laughed. "You know what this great guy did?" I asked Amy. She shook her head. "He told Franka off!" I said. "Franka, as in Franka Potente, THE Franka that he used to date? The one that attacked you?" She asked. I nodded. "Of course, how many Franka's do you know?" I asked.
Flashback I sat on the couch with Billy, Dom, Sean, and Franka at Elijah's on Oscar night. We had been eagerly waiting to see Elijah win something, and we were all on the edge of our seats. For some reason Franka had been acting extra weird around me lately, and I couldn't tell why, and no one else seemed to notice too much so I put it aside in my head. Finally Elijah won his award and went up to say his thank you speech. I was so shocked when he said "Firstly I want to thank Forever, my best friend in the world, if it weren't for her, I would have never had the guts to audition for this movie, so Forever, I thank you greatly." But then, he went on, never once thanking Franka. Something clicked inside her, and before I knew what was going on, I was thrown to the ground, and she was throwing punches at me. Billy and Dom, thank god, managed to wrestle her off of me, and they kicked her out. A week later Franka and Elijah broke up.
End flashback
We walked out of the airport and to Amy's car. When we got to her house we got out, and went in. Amy lived with her boyfriend, Eric. He was a nice guy, and I liked him. She gave him a kiss, and introduced him to Elijah. "You were Frodo in Lord of the Rings. That was an awesome movie." Eric said. "Thank you." Elijah said. I smiled at Amy. "Anyway, you need people of intelligence on this mission�quest�thing." I said in my best Scottish voice. "That rules you out Pip." Amy said in her best English accent. "Oh! It's been so long since I've been able to do that. Dom and Billy strongly forbid it." I said. She laughed. "Are you always like this?" Elijah asked jokingly. "I dono, am I?" I asked. "I think yes." Amy said. I laughed. "I missed you!" I said hugging her, and she hugged me back. "So, when's this concert?" Elijah asked. "In an hour. We'd better get going." She said. I grabbed Elijah's hand, and we jumped into the backseat so Eric could sit next to Amy, who was driving. We got to the club where they were playing. "Hey!" Amy said to Gabriel, her friend who knew the band. "Hi, I'm Forever, and this is my gorgeously beautiful hobbit of a boyfriend, Bob." I said. She laughed. "Nice to meet you Forever, you too Elijah." She said. "She found you out!" I said in mock horror. "I wonder how." He said. "She's just good, I guess." I said. She showed us the entire backstage where the guys were. "Guys, I'd like you to meet Forever, Elijah, Amy, and Eric." She said. They all shook our hands.
Later
"Wow! That was great!" I said. Elijah looked way bored. "Don't think your work didn't pay off. We're going to see Zwan in 2 weeks. I invited Jack and Kelly Osbourn and Hannah." I said. He looked excited. "No way! You RULE!" He said giving me a kiss. I kissed him back. "Zwan?" Amy asked. "The band that the Smashing Pumpkin's singer started. They should be great." Elijah said. Amy tried not to crack up, but couldn't hold it in. She busted out laughing. "Forever, you're going to sit through a practically Smashing Pumpkin's concert." Amy said. I put my hand across my neck to tell her to stop, but it was too late. "I though you liked the Pumpkins." Elijah said a little angry. "Oh, you just love them so much, I never had the heart to tell you." I said. He looked even more upset. "You lied all these years?" He asked. "Oh Lij! Don't be mad! I didn't do it to lie, I did it to make you happy." I said. "You don't have to lie about what you like to make me happy. You tell the truth in relationships!" He said. "Your cooking sucks." I said. He looked totally confused. "What ARE you talking about?" He asked. "You told me to be honest, not to lie, your cooking sucks." I said. He looked at me like I was nuts then he burst out laughing. "Oh god! I love you." He said. Amy and Erica were laughing also. We all said goodnight and went to bed after that.
I woke up the next morning finding Elijah laying looking at me. I smiled. "Morning." I said. "Do you remember what is special about today?" He asked. I shook my head. "No." I said. "It's your birthday, you don't remember?" He asked confused. My eyes got huge. "I totally forgot about that!" I said. He smiled, and kissed me. "Happy 21st birthday." He said. "Lij, you just occupy too much space in my mind. You made me forget about my birthday!" I said. He laughed. "No one else has though. Hannah, Dom, and Billy are here." He said. I smiled. "This is great!" I said. I got dressed and ready for the day then I ran to the living room. "BILLY!" I yelled. I ran, and hugged him. "Be careful for your arm!" He said. I smiled. Amy looked at me and smiled. "Merry, are we lost?" I asked in my Scottish accent. "No." Amy said in her English accent. "I think we are." I said. "Shh, Gandalf's thinking." She said. "Merry," I said. "What?" She asked. "I'm hungry." I said. We both burst into fits of laughter. Dom rolled his eyes. "Little Girl, I thought Billy and I banned you from ever doing Merry and Pippin impressions." Dom said. I smiled at Billy. "You don't mind do you?" I asked. He rolled his eyes. "You're a crazy girl." She said. "But yet everyone loves me." I said. Lij came behind me hugging me. I smiled. I still couldn't believe I had forgotten my own birthday. How sad! We all laughed and talked. Amy baked a great cake and I got a bunch of gifts.
I sat on Amy's floor with my back to Lij, my head resting on his arm, and his arms were around me. I smiled at all the people I was surrounded by, the people that loved me. I felt extremely blessed at that moment. Finally late at night everyone went off to bed. "Lij, thank you, this has been great." I said. He looked at me, and pulled out a small box. "Mary me, Forever." He said. My eyes got huge, and my mouth hung open. I couldn't find the words to say as my eyes started watering. "Not tomorrow, not the next day, but when we're both ready." He said. I nodded. "Yes." Was all I could get out. He jumped up and kissed me. Everything was perfect at that moment. I prayed that I would never have to leave this moment because life could not be better then this. I smiled as I cried. "Don't cry." He said. "I can't help it. I love you so much." I said.
