I woke up early the next morning, and smiled at Lij. He was so cute. At that moment, for the first time, I thought about what our life would be like together. It was all so weird to think of, now that he'd asked. I snuck out of the bed, and got ready. He was still asleep when I was done so I went out to the kitchen. I saw Billy and Amy talking. I smiled. "What?" Amy asked. I help my hand out. They both looked down at it, and looked shocked. Billy jumped up, and hugged me. "Congratulations Little Girl." He said. I smiled. Amy's eyes teared up. "Why are you crying?" I asked confused. "I'm so happy for you, well, and I was remembering something you told me forever ago. When we were in junior high, 6th grade, I think. Hold on." She said as she got up and ran to her desk. She pulled out a fairly large box, and opened it revealing a huge amount of letters. She pulled one out and handed it to me. I opened it, and started reading it aloud.
Amy,
This social studies assignment is so boring. You should see my best friend Elijah Wood; he was in a few movies! Isn't that cool? I'm going to marry that kid someday when I'm older, I know it!
Later
"It's nice to see you again Mandy." I said. She nodded. "You too, you seem to be doing better. I mean, with your arm and all." She said. "Yes, my arm is much better." I said. She kind of laughed. "Is that what I think it is?" She asked Elijah pointing at my finger. "Depends on what you think it is." He said. "Are you two going to get married?" She asked. I nodded. "Yea." Elijah said. "That's great! Congrats!" She said. I smiled and thanked her. "So what movies did you, Billy, Hannah, and Dom get?" Elijah asked. "Lord of the Rings!" I said. "What?" He asked. I laughed. "Uncle Billy bought it for me! Isn't that neat-o?" I asked jumping around. "Ok, what did you all feed her?" Elijah asked. I laughed and kissed him. "I love you." I said. He kissed me back. "Oh, I love you too." He said. "Lij! I need to go back home to Cedar Rapids. I want to go to the fair. I leave tomorrow." I said to Elijah after everyone had left. "Ok, I know how much fun you have at the fair. You'll call me though?" He asked. "Of course." I said. "Good." He said. We fell asleep on the couch. I left at 10 so I needed to be out of the house at 8. I woke up to find Elijah had gone to work. I got all my things done, and went to the airport.
Later
I jumped at the phone, which started to ring as I was unlocking my door. "Hello." I said as I crashed to the floor taking the cordless with me. "Are you alright dear?" I heard my mom ask. "Yea, just fell is all." I said. "Dear, your oldest brother is coming to town and we want to have a family get-together and then go have a nice night at the fair tomorrow night." She said. "Sure." I said. My other brother was great. He was smart and funny and just a great guy. He is going to Noter Dame, and off on summer vacation. We got all the plans set, and I went to bed.
The next morning I woke up when the doorbell rang. I ran to the door. "Hello." I asked flinging it open. I saw Billy standing with his bags. "BILLY!" I yelled hugging him. Billy was my closest friend, besides Elijah, no doubt. "Come in! This IS your house too!" I said. He laughed and walked in. "Billy, how would you like to go to the fair?" I asked. He laughed. "Sounds like fun." He said. "Good, my other brother is coming in from Southbend, and we're all going to the fair." I said. "Southbend?" He asked. "Indiana, home to the Noter Dame Fighting Irish. My brother is an engineering major there." I said. "Oh, when are we going?" He asked. "At 5 tonight, we've got awhile." I said. He nodded.
That night-5
I laughed as I walked into the fair with Billy. "Those are barns, they smell horrible and they aren't much fun. The best places are Expo Hill and the Midway." I said. We walked to the midway, and I spotted my brother right away. "RYAN!" I yelled as I ran to gave him a hug. "Eve, look at you. You've gotten bigger." He said. I laughed. "How are you?" I asked. "Good, who's the guest?" he asked looking at Billy. "This is my good friend Billy Boyd, Billy, this is my oldest brother, Ryan." I said. "Nice to meet you." Billy said. "You too, how did my sister manage to meet a Scottish boy?" Ryan asked. "I told you to see Lord of the Rings." I said to him. "I did," Ryan said not getting it yet. "Well, this my dear Pippin." I said. "Well, I'll be damned it is." Ryan said. "He's a good friend of my fianc, Elijah." I said holding out my hand. "You and Elijah are getting married. I knew you would sometime." He said. I smiled. "Let's ride some rides." I said. They all agreed and we went to ride some.
"What should we ride?" I asked Billy. "Oh I dono, eh, the Farris wheel?" He asked. "I'm afraid of heights, I'm thinking no." I said. He laughed. "Are you sure? It'll be fun." He said. "Oh fun, but if I freak out your going, Brett." I said as someone walked up to me. "Who's this?" Brett asked. "My friend Billy." I said. "You two dating?" Brett asked. "No." I said. "This is my girlfriend, she's a model, which is better then you'll ever hope to be." Brett said. I nodded. I wasn't going to say anything. I just tugged on Billy's arm, and told Brett good-bye. "What the bloody hell was that?" Billy asked. "Oh, just Brett, he's my ex boyfriend. I was never good enough for him, but still he wouldn't let me go. He's an ass." I said. "That's horrible!" He said. "It's really not that bad." I said. We reached the Farris wheel. I got in, and started freaking out when it stopped. "Billy, what's wrong with it?" I asked looking around frantically for an answer. "It's stopping to let people in." He said. "Oh." I said feeling stupid. He laughed. "It's ok, the ride isn't bad actually." He said. I smiled. "Billy, did I ever tell you that you truly are the best? You are always there for me." I said. "What kind of friend would I be if I wasn't always there?" He asked. "Not the type you are now." I said. "So how's everything with you and Elijah?" He asked. "It's good, we had a shaky start, but we're ok now." I said. He nodded. "You know, I've never seen Elijah as excited to tell people anything as he is to tell everyone that he's getting married to you. He's madly in love with you." Billy said. I smiled. "I'm just as madly in love with him." I said.
"So tell me one thing you never told anyone." He said. "When I first went to New Zealand, I had the biggest crush on Dom, oh and I think kilts are sexy." I said. He smiled. "You loved Dooommm." He sang. I smiled. "How bout you, something no one knows." I said. He smiled. "I don't know, um I never told anyone that Elijah was making out with Orlando's sister one day in New Zealand, I saw them in his trailer." Billy said. I looked confused. "So?" I asked. "Orlando's sister was dating Dom at the time." Billy said. "OH MY GOD! No way!" I said. "And Dom told us that he thought she had been cheating and Elijah said nothing." Billy said. "Oh my god! How wrong is that? God, Elijah is a dog sometimes." I said. Billy nodded. Our car finally reached the bottom and we got out.
"Ok, so what do we do now?" I asked. "I don't care." He said. "Oh! How about we get a funnel cake!" I said. He nodded. "Ok." He said. I showed him the place where they make the perfect ones, and we bought two. We sat on a picnic table jus chatting and eating until someone came up. "Hi, I'm sorry to bother you, but are you Billy Boyd?" The girl asked. Billy nodded. "Yes." He said. "Oh that's great! Can I get your autograph?" She asked. "Sure." He said as he signed her napkin. "So what are you doing here in Iowa?" She asked. "Well, I'm living here right now." He said. "Is Elijah living here too?" She asked. "No, not right now, at least." He said. The girl all of a sudden took a seat next to me so she was across from Billy. "So I chat on your website. Are you ever on there?" She asked. "Not normally, I leave all that up to Stewart." He said. "Oh." She said. "So who is she?" She asked pointing at me as if I wasn't right beside her. "That's Eve, she's a good friend of mine." He said. "That's nice, so what are you doing living here?" She asked. "Well, I've come to kind of give myself a nice break." Billy said. "Oh, that's nice. So when will you do some more acting?" She asked. "Oh, I don't know." He said. "Oh, ok, well, I'll leave you now." She said. "Bye." Billy said to her as she left. "Wow, you're a special dude." I said. He laughed. "You better believe it." He said. I laughed and threw a small piece of funnel cake at him. "Eat your cake!" I said laughing. He laughed too. "You're too kind to me." He said. "You'd better believe it." I said. We ate our cakes then got up and went home, and went to bed.
