Llansteffan has a very nice clean beach overlooked by Llansteffan castle.I love coming here because it is such a peaceful beach, the parking is excellent, and there are lovely fish & chips to be had from a little "hut" by the beach.
The beach is a mixture of soft sand to sit on, and also firm sand for the kids to build sand castles.
If the children get bored watching Dad making a sand castle, the beach is covered with shells which should keep them occupied for a while.
Unfortunately bathing is considered dangerous and
not allowed
Car parking is good, (almost on the beach) and was
free when we were last there in August.
Close to the beach is a small shop (you can buy a bucket and spade) a tea room, toilets, and refreshments
Llansteffan has  a very relaxing atmosphere with walks up to the castle and wonderful views across the estuary.

Leave Carmarthen on the A40 to St Clears, just after passing the B&Q D.I.Y store turn left sign posted Llansteffan turn right at the traffic lights, and stay on this road for 7 miles On entering the village turn left at the sign for beach.

Pictured right is a view of the village and beach taken from the castle walls
