Situated in beautiful surroundings in the Brecon Beacons National park, this is a popular place for walks and picnics. The centre is on the A470 road between Merthyr and Brecon, look for the sign on your left a few miles after Merthyr.
If you forgot to bring a picnic with you, there is a cafeteria and also there is an  information office where you can obtain brochures of the area.
There are some nice walks along the stream crossing small bridges on the way.
Permits for fishing the reservoirs can also be obtained at the centre.
Garwnant Visitor Centre gives an excellent introduction to the natural world of the Brecon Beacons forests. The Centre provides activities during term holidays and has a classroom and Ranger led education service. Fishing permits can be obtained for the nearby Llwyn Onn Reservoir from the machine situated in the courtyard. Restaurant, Pay and Display Parking, wheelchair access, picnic site, gift shop, orienteering, walks and adventure play area. Tel: (01685) 723060 for further information.
