One of my local favourites. The beach is mostly sand with rocks, better when the tide is out.
A large grassy area (the car park) leads directly on to the beach. There are toilets which are not too good,  and the occasional ice cream van, but not much else in the way of facilities.
There are rock pools for the children, and nice walks along the coast. Popular area for sea fishing, especially the "Deeps" between Ogmore beach and
Southerndown and in the river estuary where I have caught some nice plaice.
Bathing is allowed, but please observe the safety notices at the lifeguard station.
