Indexes : Finding what you're looking for
TTT-Himnaro Cigneta has a number of indexes that may help you locate what you are seeking.
- The largest and most basic is the list of Hymns and Songs, in alphabetical order by first line, Esperanto first, then the twenty-odd other languages represented, including English.
- If you know a hymn's English first line, you can find the Esperanto translation (if I have it) in the lists of Esperanto Hymns or Esperanto Christmas carols by English first lines.
- (There's also a list by German and Latin first lines.)
- There is a list of Recent Additions, generally the past month or two's crop.
- There is an Index of Indexes.
- There is an index of Non-Hymn Contents (hymnological articles, prayers, etc.)
- There is a list of Symbols and Abbreviations.
- There is a list of Metrical Psalms and hymns based fairly closely on psalms; this will eventually be expanded to include other parts of the Bible recast or reflected in song.
- There is an index of Rounds and Canons.
- There is an index of People, and of Anonymous Texts, Translations and Tunes, and of people for whom even the most basic information is lacking. These biographical-data lists are new and sketchy at the moment (September 2002), but will be growing rapidly in the near future.
- There are lists of Tune Names, alphabetically, which will soon begin to fill out with information on their provenance and links to the hymns that use them. So far, I have no plans to add indexing by meter. ;-)
- There are also (in some cases, partial) tables of contents of several leading Esperanto print hymnals, with links to those of their contents which are also in the online hymnal:
Adoru,
Adoru Kantante,
Esperanta Himnaro,
Himnaro Esperanta,
Tero kaj Ĉielo Kantu.
