VUELTA A ESPAÑA 2002



The Vuelta 2002 in Asturias was marked by the spectacular Angliru stage, that was won by a great Roberto Heras. This victory implied the gold jersey, that finally losed in the last stage and was obtained by Aitor González. In the previosus stage, that finished in Gijón, Smetanine won, after left behind his mate of break, Oscar Laguna.

STAGE 4

Vuelta arrives at Asturias from Santander to finalize in Gijón. The length of the stage will be about 190 kms. This end is a classic one in Vuelta as could be seen in the stage history



STAGE 5

The stage leaves Gijón to finish in Angliru for third time in the history of Vuelta. Before two new and hard clibs will be passed: Marabio and Tenebredo, and then Soterraña, clasic prologue to final ascent to Angliru.
