FM, Warren Elliott Profile last updated, February 17, 2006
"The future of chess lies in the hands of this young man.." INTRODUCTION Fide Master Warren Elliott, first learned chess when he was only 11 years old. His first chess Tournament was the Albion ladder league, which was held in 1992 in Montego bay, which is his place of birth. FM Elliott made a tremendous impact on the chess scene in Kingston when he won the 1998 Jamaica Open. Since then he has never looked back. FM Warren Elliott is only the second player in Jamaica to have achieved the title of Fide Master. His rapid growth in strength in a short period of time, and the forceful way in which he has burst into the top three (3) three ranking is perhaps unequalled in the history of chess in Jamaica. PLAYING STYLE CAREER HIGHLIGHTS With Back to back victories in 2004 and 2005, FM Warren Elliott has
retained his crown and is once again the current defending 2005 Jamaica
National Champion and the National Champion and National Blitz champion
of 2004. However he went into the history books when he first won the
2001 National Championships with an unprecedented perfect score of 9/9.
It was also a back to back victory since he had also won the National
Champs of 2000. He then went on to attain the title of Fide Master when
he represented Jamaica in the Subzonals 2.3.5, which was held in Venezuela
in 2001 2005 National Champs;First

He is currently preparing for the 2006 chess olympiad in Turin Italy. When not studying in school FM Elliott, the founder of the Five star chess academy and a curent University of Technology Student balances his time between coaching his students and preparing for his next tournament. CONCLUSION If FM Warren Elliott continues to progress he will no doubt go down in history as one of Jamaica's greatest.
