2002 MIAMI YOUTH FESTIVAL

Subject: Miami's Winter Chess Festival

Dear Friend of Chess,

I would like to invite your students to participate in our 5th Annual Junior Orange Bowl International Scholastic Chess Championship, the Pan American Intercollegiate Championship or World Collegiate Competition. These tournaments will be held at the Embassy Suites Hotel by the Miami International Airport in Miami, Florida. The JOB will be from Dec 27 to 29 and the PA from Dec. 27 – 30.

Our previous winners include USCF National High School Champions Marcel Martinez and Rodelay Medina and this year’s #2 player, Bruci Lopez. Bruci also won the Denker and finished 10th in the US Open.

If you know of interested teams or individuals, we would appreciate all the help we can get advertising the event.

While you are at it, check out the World Chess Hall of Fame in Miami. We will try to have our announcement there soon, as well. Drop Al Lawrence a note and say “Hi!.”
