In one of the league matches of Vitality Blast 2022, Kent will take on Gloucestershire later today. This match will be played at the Spitfire Ground in Canterbury. The team management was hoping for more wins but these hopes were dashed away quickly after defeats against Middlesex and Hampshire over the weekend. Hampshire won their game against Kent by 54 runs while Middlesex beat them by an even more convincing margin of 7 wickets.
In the game on Sunday Fredrick Klaassen took a couple of wickets for 43 runs but was unable to prevent a loss. The Kent wicketkeeper Jordan Cox managed to score 23 runs in the last match to keep the scoreboard ticking in the team's middle order. This was well backed by his wicketkeeping skills as well. In their last game, Joe Denly scored 49 runs with a good strike rate of 132.43. He has good potential with the bat and may get pushed up in the batting order to bring out the best in him. The all-rounder George Linde will be keen to keep up his fabulous form with more good performances. He has terrific control over his performances and his skills make him a top contender to do well in this game. Fred Klaassen has amazing bowling skills and he took a couple of more wickets that aided him in breaking many partnerships. You can expect another great performance from the bowler in this game.

Gloucestershire also had a disappointing weekend during their campaign for the Vitality Blast 2022. They lost a game by 7 wickets to the Somerset team on Friday. Their home game against Glamorgan had to be abandoned due to rain without a ball being bowled. These two disappointing results mean that Gloucestershire will be knocked out of the top 4 of the league points table even though they are on level points with the Hampshire in the 5th position. James Bracey has been good for the team with the bat with a couple of half-centuries to his credit. The test debutant for England will be looking to consolidate his performance in the Blast with this match. The batsman Glenn Phillips played a significant role for Kent against Sussex after he scored 66 runs with a decent strike rate of 124.53. This performance with the bat was backed by a better bowling performance that earned him a wicket as well in the game.
Miles Hammond has great potential with the bat however, he lacks the consistency in performance that could be observed in the earlier stages of the competition. However, this will not stop him from making a comeback in the match. Jack Taylor is capable of developing good partnerships in the Gloucestershire middle order. This could be witnessed in the game that got him 46 runs with a solid strike rate of 148.39 runs. Benny Howell scored 42 runs in the game with a terrific strike rate of 233.33 runs and to top it he also picked up a couple of wickets in the last game. This makes the all-rounder a must-have in the team for Gloucestershire. David Payne was not played in the last game. He took 3 wickets at a great economy rate of 4.64 runs per over. This pointed to his good understanding of the conditions and will keep him motivated for the upcoming games. Tom Smith was not only able to score a good number of runs during the tail end of the batting but was able to follow it up with a couple of wickets in the Gloucestershire's last match. He is also pretty good at containing the opposition.
