Bad weather and poor forecasts by the Chinese severely curtailed activities in China during the month. A variety of targets in the Poyang Lake region, and the Wuchang Peninsula were bombed on the 2nd. Japanese Headquarters at Nanchang and railroad stations and warehouses at Hua Yuan were also bombed on the 2nd. On the 3rd the first raid on Hanoi, French Indochina took place when a lone B-25 dropped bombs and pamphlets on that city, a second raid took place on the 25th. A raid on Lungling on the 19th, while ineffective, resulted in the discovery of a heavy movement of Japanese supplies along the Burma Road toward the Salween front. From the 25th on the 10th concentrated on raids in support of the Chinese forces attempting to hold the Japanese on the west bank of the Salween river. Other targets hit during the remainder of the month included Luchiangpa on the 26th; and Mangshih along with targets of opportunity on the Burma Road on the 27th.

During the month Headquarters 7th Bomb Group moved from Dum-Dum to Karachi in India. On the 19th the 341st Bomb Group (M) was activated at Karachi along with the 490th and 491st Bomb Squadrons (M); the 11th and 22nd Bomb Squadrons (M) were transferred to the 341st Bomb Group on that same date.
