St. Elmo's Fire starts off with a car crash. The whole gang comes rushing to the hospital because Billy had gotten him and Wendy into a car accident while driving intoxicated. So once the whole gang is together without injery they all head over to St. Elmo's bar. (Billy's already drunk already why not get him a little more to drink?)

Alec, Leslie, Kirbo, Wendy, Billy. Jules, and Kevin had all become best friends in college. There now four monthes out of college and trying hard to make an adjustment to the real world. Billy is the one who can't seem to get over his college days and still acts like every night is a frat party. Alec is the political yuppie who's swiched from working for the democratic party, to the rebulican party just to make more money. Leslie, who's Alec's live in girlfriend is trying hard to presue her career and trying hard to decide whether or not to marry Alec. Jules is the wild one who's over her head in credit card bills and her simple solution to it all is to have an affair with her boss so she gets premoted. Kevin spends his time obsessed with Leslie and refusing to date anyone else, hence everyone thinks he's gay. Kirbo is obseesed with an older woman played by Andie McDowell who he had an very brief relationship with. Wendy wants Billy but her family wants her to get married to some nerd who help the family buisness prosper.

This was a very cool "brat pack" movie even though it was missing Molly Ringwald. I liked the soundtrack, it had it's funny parts, and it's dramatic parts. The ending was pretty good, not everyone got there way but some people did and that's just life.
