-----As he lands in a crouched position, his friends can see it is Raven. He instantly runs toward their position with his bow ready.
-----When Raven reaches the edge of the thicker tree line, he can see Sarah, Sol, Romney and the dancer gathered around a large tree with their backs to it. It looks like they are keeping their eyes on the surrounding forest while they are waiting for the hunter.
-----The only sound heard is the constant patter of rain on the treetops.
-----In the distance, Rinda is seen hurriedly descending the stairs carrying her club and bow while watching where Raven heads.
-----As soon as Raven nears, Sol quickly advises him of the situation, "Good t'see ye. Sarah an' this lady here were a moment ago fired at with arrows by an unknown assailant. He fired from cover an' Sarah's spell went off there." Sol points as closely as he can to the place where he believes the archer fired from.
-----"We need yer ability t'find us this new prey." Sol finishes with an angry rumble.
-----Sarah quietly surveys the forest, ready to blast whatever just tried to kill her.
-----Raven nods, "Aye I saw what happened from my room. I'll take a look, but if it was an elf it will be hard to track 'em." Raven turns and then heads towards the area where the attacker most likely fired. Raven puts away his bow and starts to examine the area.
-----"I-I've never been shot at before," the dancer says as she stares with large pretty eyes at the surrounding trees. She almost looks too frightened to move from her spot.
-----"Whoever did will pay when we find them," Romney says lowly in anger. He then glances at Sarah with an apologetic expression. "I am sorry, MiLady," the guard says, "I did not know you intended to venture out. Perhaps one of us should have escorted you."
-----The dancer seems to find comfort somehow in Romney's words. Although his attention is focused on the young mage, the dancer casts a small smile toward the guard from Oakwood.
-----Without taking his attention away from his watch, Sol nods at the dancer and tells the guard from Oakwood, "Romney, I think ye should escort this lady back inside th' inn. On yer way, grab our discarded equipment an' take it in. See if ye can find Garrison inside, give him my pouches an' ask him t'find us. Then keep guard until we've returned."
-----Raven cuts in, "Found something." Raven looks towards the dark forest, "He ran this way." Raven pauses, "Most likely a wood elf." Without saying anything else, Raven starts to track his prey into the forest.
-----"That would be so kind!" the dancer says as she looks at Romney though she still appears shaken.
-----"Aye, I shall . . ." Romney begins to say before pausing and asking Sol, "Where is it you wish me to stand guard?"
-----Just then Rinda rushes up and seeing Raven head off, begins to follow him.
-----"Just stay inside th' inn. Our rooms should be safe enough." Sol replies as he begins to follow Raven. The young warrior then looks over his shoulder as he does so and asks Sarah with a smile, "Coming?"
-----As Romney leaves escorting the dancer back to the inn, the adventurers follow the hunters through the trees. Overhead the shower of rain rattles on the highest leaves and branches while an occasional raindrop finds its way down on someone.
-----"Yes, sir!" Sarah says happily and clings close to Sol as the party moves through the woods. In her head she's wondering who the arrow was meant for...if maybe the dancer knows more than she let on...and if they'll be able to find her and Romney when they get back. Those looks they were giving each other...heck, it reminds her of the way she looks at Sol. Sarah shakes her head in an amused way and tries to concentrate on paying attention for ambushes.
-----Raven leads them to where a few logs have fallen and pauses there to study the ground further.
-----Raven stops and looks around the area. "Damn!" Raven curses, "Lost the bastard." Raven takes a moment to look again and then says, "No luck. He disappeared like smoke in the wind." Raven turns to Sol, "Any ideas?"
-----"Only one." Sol answers as he frowns and peers into the surrounding woods, "We wait fer Garrison t'catch up. As long as he has my pouches, we can try th' magic looking glass that we got from Merkulus' tower. If that shows us nothing, we'll have t'head back an' report this crime t'Lord Howrun or th' village's headsman."
-----Raven and Rinda continue looking over the area as they wait. After a bit, Raven points out some places on the bark of one of the fallen trees where it appears someone stepped on it. There the wood looks slightly crushed and the light inner wood is somewhat exposed.
