-----"I do not think that werewolves are affected by holy water," Xavia offers, "but thank you for the suggestion."
-----Occasionally a few of the soldiers glare at Seth as he sings and one of the guards from Oakwood shakes his head grumbling, "Disgusting."
-----By this time, Kazel heads out the door. Xavia looks up and, though she appears to protest, only says to the butcher, "Do not take any unnecessary chances."
-----The Dread Pirate looks up at the guard from Oakwood and cheerfully replies, "What? What's that? I didn't quite hear you. How many of those werewolves did you kill? What! None? Then what plan did ye have to deal with those werewolves afore we got here? What, none again? Then shut yer pie-hole and let the man sing. You'd probably be dead now, if it weren't fer us. Sheer ingratitude, that's what it is. The young today have no respect fer their betters. I blame it on their upbringing and the new math." The Dread Pirate then goes back to basting his caltrops and chucking them down the werewolf tunnel.
-----Seth stops singing for a short period just to pronounce out loud, "They have retreated into the woods. They could be regrouping or they could be running." He now goes on to sing a song he heard in Oakwood about Nylan Lotley and the unfortunate Sir Slappy - turned into an orc!
-----At the paladin's urging, the soldiers and priests go on about their business without any other words of conflict.
-----By now, Marast shows that he is finished coating arrows with the silver. The elf stands close to the Dread Pirate watching Brandel and Krord as the human mercenary sits in a chair nursing his arm.
-----Runik straightens, hefting his hammer and showing how he coated the ends of his weapon. At Brandel's suggestion, the dwarf goes off into the stable to check on the little girl still in the loft. As Runik returns, his eyes are large and he talks lowly as he speaks to the Dread Pirate and Seth. "'Ey," he begins, "Th' blasted mage fellow ain't in the waggin' no more n' I don' be seein' him in these here buildins!"
-----The Dread Pirate sighs as a look of concern fails to pass across his face, "Nuts to the mage. If he was foolish enough to go out on his own under these circumstances, then he deserves what he gets. If the werewolves got him, then there's also not a lot we can do about it. I, for one, am not willing to charge blindly into the darkness. We're not ready to leave the inn right now. Once we're all properly beweaponed and bandaged, we might try sallying forth to see what we can see, but that moment isn't here yet. It's too bad he didn't heal my belly-plague, but we might find him yet. We might want to bring the child in here though."
-----Seth shrugs and figures the wizard had his reasons and continues singing and working away at the bolts.
-----Krord leaves at Brandel's instruction to retrieve the girl from the loft in the stables. As the huge mercenary moves off, Brandel asks Seth and the Dread Pirate, "So our plan is to wait here until dawn?"
-----At this point, all of the guards and priests ignore the rogues' group as Seth, the Dread Pirate and the mercs casually assemble at a table midway between the outside door and the one leading to the stables.
-----Suddenly, Xavia approaches and calmly asks, "Who else among your number has wounds that need tending?"
-----In reply to Brandel, Dread says, "Aye, I don't much care fer our chances if we were to try goin out right now. Those werecritters'd pick us apart in the darkness. I'm thinkin our only chance is to try trackin 'em down at dawn and hope we can find their lair."
-----To Xavia, Dread replies, "Aye, I think Brandel is sorely wounded. And I have a plague that turns people into undead, brain-eating zombies. Fortunately, it seems to be a slow moving sort o' plague. Unfortunately, our resident priest has gone missing afore he could finish healin me. And the werewolf that I killed down below managed to nip my arm. So I could use whatever disease healin measures ye might have at yer disposal. By the way, it's the same plague that the townsfolk which yer goin to heal have. Yer priests might get some use outta seein it now afore they get there."
-----Upon saying so, the Dread Pirate hikes up his shirt and exposes his hairy, cheese-encrusted, wounded belly to the paladin. "Looks nasty, doesn't it? Just ignore the cheese particles. That was part of an unsuccessful attempt to cure the plague by treatin it with various cheeses."
-----Seth moves over near to Dread when he gets a chance and can whisper without being over heard. "I have a scroll that will protect us from Lycanthropes. If we all keep close to the wagon it should protect us all as we head on out of this cursed town."
-----"I have already tended to Brandel as much as I can," Xavia says laying a hand on the young mercenary's shoulder. "He will need to see the Noble Curate Zharta in the Town of Oakwood when you arrive there."
