-----"Come back inside," comes Xavia's voice. Turning the two rogues can see the paladin standing just outside the door with her sword drawn. Her eyes, however, are focused on the surrounding deep shadows.
-----The Dread Pirate sighs melodramatically and watches as the werebeast vanishes into the darkness. Trying to keep the sound of relief out of his voice, the Dread Pirate says, "Arrr, ye scared it off, ye blasted paladin. Another few moments and I would have cozened it into foolishly attackin us."
-----Keeping an eye on the surrounding darkness, Dread says, "Aye, since I'm already out here, what say I replace some o' those torches. Ummm, actually, on second thought, I'll replace those torches once we get some archers on the roof with silver dipped arrowheads. And I have some caltrops in me bag here. We'd best dip those and dump 'em down that tunnel. Give those werecritters a nasty surprise if'n they try that route again. Once we're ready, I'll put those torches up." Thus said, Dread begins cautiously backing up towards the tavern entrance, cutlass still out, in case the monsters make a concerted rush at the tavern.
-----Seth nods at Dread's suggestion and returns to his crossbow bolts and begins dipping the non flammable ones in the silver bot. "Marast, can you make sure everyone's arrows get a silver coating and Runik can you make sure about everyone's blades?" He pointedly ignores the paladin and the Oakwood guards and smiles at Krord and Brandel, "Can you hold up? It might be a day or two before we can get you back to Oakwood and a proper priest."
-----"To save time," Xavia says to the Dread Pirate, "I shall have our soldiers man the window while some others replace the torches." She then motions to the two rogues saying, "Please come back inside where we can tend to your wounds."
-----Inside, Marast and Runik set about following Seth's suggestion. Brandel grits his teeth as he favors his bandaged hand. Nonetheless he nods at Seth while Krord gives a look of concern to the young mercenary.
-----"A PROPER priest?!" someone calls out in surprise. One of the armored priests who stood guard with Xavia looks at the musician with an unbelieving expression. "How dare you . . .?" he says with his jaw handing open.
-----The other priest stands a few feet away, his attention drawn to others who sport injuries.
-----Seth looks at the outraged personage. "I guess I should rephrase that, one who can treat Lycanthropy? I believe someone before said there was no one here capable? I did not know we had priests amongst us - is it true holy water may have harmed those beasts? We could have done with some holy water in bottles to throw if that is the case." He looks around and realizes he is in a tavern. "You know if holy water really does harm those beasts, perhaps we should begin filling all the glass jars and bottles in this tavern with holy water ready to throw?" He shrugs his shoulders and winks at Xavia and says, "It is only a suggestion for our continued collective existence."
-----After a while he communicates with Albert to see if any of the strange creatures are coming near the tavern, and then begins sing racy tavern tunes. Ones about clerics getting drunk and revealing their bottoms to the patrons while doing imitations of the high lord wizard making a cake!
-----The Dread Pirate backs his way into the tavern, sits on a chair and looks morosely at the soldiers and priests in front of him, "This is a disgustin situation fer a Dread Pirate to be in. Holed up with priests and paladins, hidin from werewolves in a rat-trap of an inn. I hate this town."
-----Shaking his head in baffled disgust, the Dread Pirate says to the offended priest, "Shut yer pie hole and go heal somebody, ye scut. Don't ye have anythin better to do than get yer feelins hurt by an off-handed comment? Does this really seem like the time or place fer ye to get yer feathers ruffled about a comment when there be wounded in here and ravenous werewolves out there? Ye can go to yer room and cry about it later. Fer now try to have some perspective." Getting up from his chair, the Dread Pirate begins layering silver onto his caltrops, then chucking them down the werewolf tunnel for the possible future delight of any werewolves that might venture that way again.
-----Kazel glances up into the rafters to check on the girl, then goes and collects the remaining arrows, caltrops and blades that she left earlier to dip in silver. "Ah yes," she replies to Dread, "what's the worst that could happen? I guess this is it." For her part, she puts her caltrops under the windows but leaving a handful on herself for later. She then strides right back out the door, saying, "Be back when I've got some wounds", ignoring anyone stupid enough to object.
-----Once she is outside, Kazel climbs onto the roof and surveys the cursed village from her vantage point.
-----The offended priest then turns from Seth ignoring the musician and the comments from the Dread Pirate. He begins helping the other priest and soldiers as they dispose of the body of the destroyed werecreature amid the remnants of Seth's web spell. For now, the body is merely placed outside the tavern door as a few of the men echo concern over the possibility of a werewolf coming back to life.
