THE GOAL: Stony Joe is going to Burning Man 2007!

I've never been. I want to go.

9-2-06 The QUEST FOR FIRE begins as THE MAN BURNS TONIGHT! The Journey Begins Today!
Today I spent $4 on a respirator, $2 on a backpack and gasmask bag, $5 on a used Coleman propane stove, and $2 on a flashlight/flasher.
A financial investment in survival/party gear has been made as a sign of determination (and I sold some silverware to offset the cost) that I shall make the journey to Burning Man 2007.

9-4-06 So This Weekend I started an ART PROJECT to burn and began collecting things for Burning Man 2007.
Found a bunch of stuff: laundry basket, beach mat, binoculars, water bottles, Coleman camping lantern, my big backpack and 2-person tent, first aid stuff, poncho, cheapo flip-flops, and more.
The ART PROJECT construction began on the 2nd, the night the Man burned.

9-5-06 The Theme for 2007 is "THE GREEN MAN"
The new theme for the next Burning Man Festival concerns humanity's relationship to nature.
Do we, as conscious beings, exist outside of nature's sway,
or does its force impel us and inform the central root of who and what we are?

Recent Random Thoughts
The travel backpack is awesome, got it rigged and it will also serve as my "earthquake preparedness" kit (if there is such a thing).
I'm collecting more things. Found more stuff in storage: extra sleeping bag, bike parts, carpet, rubber mat(used to be on a treadmill), trash bags, another beach mat, cardboard tubes for the ART PIECE, canvas clothes for a costume and more. Got some more stuff for free to add to the list. And started cataloging things to take with to barter on the playa if I can't sell or trade them first.

Okay, the gathering of materials continues! And I've been busy all week selling and cataloging stuff in storage.

Found some useful things in storage and some good stuff to sell and barter. Spent a day shredding old bills and credit card stuff...very cathartic.
