  • Maintained content inventories for enhanced content management and reuse
  • Worked closely with a senior technical writer on ad-hoc tasks

  • This project was my final year project at Coventry University and continued as a live project after my graduation in the summer of 2005
  • Wrote, edited and designed a guidebook to share my experience and personal insights regarding youth-oriented cross-cultural work in South Korea (target users: English-speaking Korean young people and people from different countries who promote cross-cultural awareness in South Korea)
  • Conducted research to understand my Korean client's requirements and needs
  • Project planning and management (worked independently from the 12 dummy versions through the final version)
  • The book was published by MIZY, c/o UNESCO in 2006 and distributed to selected non-profit cultural organisations in South Korea

Vaerlandet, Norway
International Youth Leadership and Cultural Exchange

  • Participated a two-week international seminar on a remote Norwegian Island called Vaerlandet
  • Theme: Using your local area and resources to organise a youth exchange event in a remote village with limited resources
  • The training covered project planning, communication, budgeting and evaluation
  • Worked in groups with European participants (Norwegian, English, Scottish, Welsh, French, German, Spanish, Belgian, Portuguese and Latvian) to experiment how to solve problems in organising a multicultural, youth-oriented event

  • Volunteered as a full-time team host to support 26 Korean participants for the International Children's Games 2005 (children's Olympics) from 3 July 2005 to 11 July 2005
  • Participated a three-day training prior to the start of the event

  • Planned and organised cross-cultural awareness activities, targeting Korean young people (aged up to 24) and people from other countries (of all ages)
  • Assisted Programme Coordinators / Programme Specialists (my supervisors) in the planning and organisation of activities to foster intercultural understanding and tolerance
  • Conducted research and developed teaching materials on various cultural topics
  • Wrote English contents for MIZY's official web site
  • Proofread Korean-Chinese translation
