Activities

The main objective of this center is to create awareness and inspire women from all walks of life (community, corporates, post students, students). We will also undertake research to understand the type of women that will attend the workshop, understand their availability and identify what are some common areas that most will need support, so that we can design an effective programme. It also works towards creating a more positive enabling environment by supporting assessments of the situation, and working with governments and policy makers to remove the specific gender barriers that women entrepreneurs may face.

This will be done through community workshops, tell stories – real people real stories, participating in the community events such as Pacifica festival, Community markets, fairs, Chinese Events and Food festival. It also provides an opportunity to make successful female entrepreneurs visible and share their stories success and failure stories as a learning curve. Workshops, seminars, church meetings, Meet ups, community events, NGO’s and other forms of community engagement will be involved in providing technology and entrepreneurship education among women. There are regular workshops and hands on activities with various NGO’s and community to support and enable women.

As a pilot programme, we are working with ARMS, Jaagrati (Awakening) Family Support Group and Sri Lankan Society New Zealand.
