Welcome to Paramotoring
Paramotoring is paragliding with an engine attached to the pilot's back. This is why it is sometime refereed to as powered paragliding. It is easy to learn to fly and can provide hours of adventures at a time.
Here are some frequently asked questions to get you started.
- Do I need a license to fly?
No, there is no need in this sport. Although taking an instructed course is recommended to learn the basics.
- How long can I fly on one tank of gas?
Depending on tank size it can be upwards of 3 hours of uninterrupted flight.
- How high can the paramotor fly?
Paramotors can ascend well over 14,000 feet, although that is not a common altitude for paramotoring. Most of the time you will be flying closer to the ground between 150 and 500 feet.
- What happens if the engine dies mid flight?
The engine can restart mid flight with use of a pull starter or on some heavier models have electric starters. If for some reason the engine won't fire back up, the wing will let you glide to the ground safely to land.
- How hard is it to steer?
Controls are very simple, pull the right handle to turn right, pull the left handle to turn left, and pull both to flare ( this is used during landing ).
