Our Mission

To Fly.

We want you to join us.

Open Skies Paramotor has been in the business of getting people airborne for 10 years. It is our mission to share our greatest passion of the open skies with you by offering you the best equipment chosen for a new paramotor pilot. We are here to answer any of your questions to help further your dream of flying.

Documentation of the Development Process

The purpose of the site is to introduce the sport of paramotoring, and then sell them an equipment package. The packages have been simplified to only two select options to give the beginner to the sport an easy choice to make. To ensure the success and completion of this website task were split in a modular way. The head banner that has navigation and a website title was the first task, as this was one of the most important steps because it was going to be on every page, along with the footer. As a page developed its basic outline, I then styled them methodically one element at time. This allowed any unforeseen complications, like one change affecting other elements, to be mitigated. As sections of the page were being styled, I tried to look for any clashing of the design. Final styling changes were being made after all elements were completed, this allowed me to get a big picture of the design.

Defense of the Final Product

The design choice of the website is meant to represent the sky with the light blues and bright tones. The home page is mainly a landing page that is meant to grab the persons attention with an inspiring quote and image. This gives the reader a sense of the paramotoring experience, flight in all its imaginative wonders. This leads to the introduction to paramotoring page with a fixed link on the page. The intro page is more about informative content than the landing page. The sections on the page are grouped in a light blue box that keeps with the sky feel. The videos serve as a link to the YouTube channel as well as an embedded video. From here the visitor will hopefully be intrigued with the sport and want to see the paramotors that are for sale, this is guided with the link at the bottom of the page. The products page shows the two packages for sale side by side so the visitor can easily see the differences. The details of the page are summarized in similar formats and the specification tables have some specifics in a bright table that matches the design of the website. The user can select a package which takes them to the order page. The ordering page is a form that guides the visitor with the correct content of each field with placeholder text as well as labels. The package choices on the side, constructed of images of the paramotors, allow the user to click them to select a package as well as the radio buttons. The about page has a mission statement with another inspiring photo.

The head banner with navigation is done with a consistent design across the site. It has links to each page in the order that they should be visited. The footer keeps with the bright blues, and has contact information, company name, and navigation links to the main pages.

Opportunities for Improvement and Growth

The site could use more product choices, the packages could be made up of individually chosen parts that the visitor picks out. This would be a "build your own paramotor" page, with images of each part separately and descriptions. Another addition would be a professional design header by a graphic designer. I would also like to add a more informative page dedicated to education on the sport, with how to do regular maintenance, as well as tips on how to fly better.
