Welcome to the Virtual Community of Vienna

At the time of closing, Geocities comprised over 30 million files and uncountable hours of work. A few far-sighted individuals and organizations expended their time, energy, and money to save what they could. From these archives, The Internet Archive, ReoCities, Oocities, and here at Geocities.ws, we are sifting what we can, and gluing together the broken shards and torn manuscripts of our once great Web community.

In an attempt to rebuild our little 'virtual Vienna' from the rubble and ashes of Yahoo!/Geocities, this site offers links to a list of current and historical pages from a Vienna-related community that included members from the Geocities Vienna neighborhood and the rest of the Web.

That's it, a big link list - and an offer to allow individuals with similar interests to use these as a resource and home for any voluntary organization that might arise.

I'm inviting anyone who has a website thats fits our criteria to join the Vienna Community. I'm hoping members will help, I'd like to see something auspicious develop.

Over time we hope many old Geocities Vienna homesteaders may reclaim, update, or rebuild their pages but in the meantime, we're going to list the existing pages that we find.

Geocities.ws and its staff is greatly appreciated for their efforts in saving what they have of the old Geocities.com, but be aware that this project is entirely based on my initiative; any offense, insult, or error in these pages is mine alone.

In the latter days of Yahoo!/Geocities, the consensus in the Vienna Residents Club was that our virtual community should be open to any site that exhibited content about 'Art' music, 'Classical' music, Ballet and other forms of performance dance, and the city and history of Vienna, especially Classical Vienna.

If you have a page that fits the description, please consider joining the Community.
