Hardware component that enables a computer to send (transmit) and receive data, instruction
and information to and from one or more computers.

Modem
A devices that enables a computer to communicate over analog networking media such as
connecting the internet via telephone lines.

Router
A devices that connects multiple networks together; routes packets to their next location
in order to efficiently reach their destination.

Switch
A devices used to connect multiple devices on a single (typically wired) network.
Transmit data, instruction and information directly to the intended receipent.

Wireless Access Point
A devices on a network that connects wireless devices to the network.

Hub
A device that provides a common central connection point for nodes on network.
Transmit data, instruction and information to all the devices in the netwrok, only
intended receipent will receive it, the rest will reject.

Network Interface Card (NIC)
An expansion card through which a computer can connect to a network.
