Sunday June 11 2006 The weather has really changed. We are spending two nights in Prince George, taking Sunday off as a day of rest. This morning we are worshipping at the First Fort George Baptist Church. People were very kind and welcoming and we have been invited to a church picnic which is partly a Birthday celebration for the Minister and partly a goodbye for a couple who are leaving the area. We have followed everyone up into the forest overlooking the town to an amazing place called Noah's Ark Wonderland. It belongs to a family connected to the church. It is an animal sanctuary and a centre for social events, sleigh rides in winter and hayrides in summer. There were wonderful Belgian draft horses, yaks, a baby bison, highland cattle, mountain sheep, all sort of farm and domestic animals, guarded by huge Anatolian hounds. There was a pot luck lunch and a chance to stroll around. |
