Some of Our Adopted Keeshonden

Often, when a keeshond enters rescue, their condition is such that it is doubtful that they would be adopted from a shelter or "pound". They come into the rescue system wormy; coats matted or missing; in assorted states of neglect; and frequently heartworm positive [Mosquitoes carry heartworms!] Depending on the abuse or neglect they have experienced, they may be timid and distrusting. The responsibility of the Rescuer is to evaluate their personality, return them to health, and provide them with nurturing as if they were our own. To see the transformation that comes is one of the greatest rewards that the individual rescuer knows.

As they go to their Forever Home, each dog takes with them a part of the heart of the Rescuer & Foster Parent.
