�Down here at our house,� Nickolas said.
�What for? We�re supposed to be together.�
�I know.�
�I�m making us dinner.�
�What are you making?�
�Lasagna and then I thought we could have some strawberries and each other for desert.�
�Sounds good.�
�I thought so too.�
�I�ll be up then.�
�Hurry, because I miss you.�
�Alright.�
�I love you.�
�I love you too.� She smiled and then heard a click.
Sunshine stood there a moment and then walked to the kitchen. She looked at her watch and then got out the stuff to make lasagna. She would make it now that way it would be done by the time Nickolas got there. She put water on to boil and turned on the oven as she started to think.
Nickolas was gone all day and she couldn�t understand why. He was gone before she woke up that morning and just found a note from Nickolas saying he would be back later. It was already five and he wasn�t back yet. Even when he did go out he couldn�t stay away for more than two or three hours. He would even call her every ten minutes or so just to say �I love you�. Today was different though. He wasn�t back in two or three hours and he wasn�t calling every ten minutes just to tell her how much he loved her. He didn�t even call her at all since he�s been gone.
She just didn�t understand what was going on with him lately. He seemed distant and preoccupied and wouldn�t say why. He really hadn�t talk to anyone since they got back from Germany. He was hardly speaking to her and it was driving her nuts. They hadn�t made love since the night Nickolas broke the glass in her hand. They really hadn�t done anything together since they got back home.
She finished what she was doing in the kitchen and walked out. She went back to her room and started the shower just as the doorbell rang. She sighed and walked from her room and walked to the door. She opened the door and saw a delivery guy.
�Delivery for Sunshine Carter.�
�That�d be me.�
�Fella�s.� Sunshine looked and saw more delivery guys holding vases of roses. �Someone�s in love.�
�Yeah.� Sunshine stepped to the side to let them bring the roses in. �Who are they from?�
�They wish to remain anonymous, but they said to give you this.� He handed her a small envelope. �We have a truck load of red roses just for you.�
�Really?�
�Indeed.�
�Cool; then bring them on in.� He nodded and she watched the group of guys get on the elevator. She ran back to her room and turned the shower off. She walked back to the parlor and took the card from the envelope and read; I love you. Nickolas. She smiled. �Awe, Nicky, I love you too.� She continued smiling and waited a few minutes before the delivery guys came back. She watched as they went back and forth bringing the roses in. When they were done she looked around and said, �That�s a lot of roses.�
�Yes it is.�
�Thank you.� She smiled.
�Sign here.� He pointed and she signed her name. �Thank you.�
�No thank you.� She walked him to the door and closed it when he walked out. She looked at the rose filled room and smiled. She walked down the steps and took a rose from a vase. She walked around the room and got the phone. She dialed Nickolas� cell, but got his voicemail right away. �Baby, it�s me. I�m just calling to say I got the roses and they�re beautiful. I have dinner in the oven and I�m ready to get in the shower. I hope you soon get here, because I�m really missing you. I love you. Bye.�
She turned off the phone and walked back to her room smiling. She restarted the shower just as the phone rang. �Damn it.� She turned the phone on and said, �Hello?� No one answered. �Hello?� Still no answer. �Is anyone there?� There was still no answer and Sunshine turned off the phone. She threw the phone on the bed and went and got her shower.
She was out about twenty minutes later and just wrapped the towel around her as she walked from the bathroom. She went in the closet and got out a dress. It was a green strapless one, Nickolas' favorite, and the one she wore the night he proposed. She smiled and laid it on the bed before walking from the room. She walked around the condo looking for Nickolas, but didn�t find him. She sighed disappointedly and turned the oven down to keep the food warm. She went back to the bedroom and got ready for Nickolas.
It took another twenty minutes and she walked around the condo again and looked for her husband. He still wasn�t there and she opened the balcony doors. It was a nice night to eat out and she stood there a moment looking out. She went back inside and got a table cloth, plates, silverware, and wine glasses. She set up the table nicely and then got some candles. She finished and went back inside to get the wine. She looked at the clock and sighed. She put the wine back in the refrigerator and walked back out to the balcony. Sunshine stood there a few minutes looking and thinking of her husband. She sighed and turned around when she heard a noise. She looked and saw Nickolas standing there smiling.
�I�m sorry I�m late,� Nickolas said as Sunshine just looked at him. �I wanted to shower and had to pick out something nice.� He opened his arms and smiled. �How do I look?�
Sunshine smiled and said, �You look great.�
�Thank God.� She chuckled. �You look even better, Sweets.� He walked over to her and put his arms around her waist. She just grinned and he pulled her closer. �I love you.� He took her face in his hands and kissed her. She kissed him in return and put her arms around him.
�I love you.�
�I�m glad.� She smiled and he took something from his pocket. He dangled it in front of her and she continued smiling. �I got this made to match your engagement ring. Do you like it?�
�I love it.� He smiled and put the necklace on her. He went to take the other necklace off and she stopped him. �Leave it on. Ya know I don�t take it off.�
�Of course not.� She smiled and they looked at each other.
He kissed her again and she asked, �Are you hungry?�
�Just for you.� He kissed her again.
�We can have desert later.� She smiled and pushed him away. �I slaved over dinner so we�re going to enjoy it.� She walked inside.
�If you insist.�
�I do.� He smiled and went in after her.
�It smells good, Sweets.� She looked at him as he got the wine out. �I�m really sorry I was late.�
�It�s ok, because you�re here now and that�s all that matters.� She kissed him and walked from the kitchen as he followed.
They both sat down to eat and they just looked at each other the whole time. Neither said anything, but could see all the passion in their eyes. Nickolas smiled at her and she smiled in return, as she pushed her shoe off. She put her foot up his pant leg and he continued smiling. She continued smiling herself and bit her bottom lip as she put her foot between his legs only to find he was already aroused.
�Mmm, Sunnie.� She continued smiling and started rubbing her foot against him. �Sunnie.� Damn all the things she could do to him with just one touch or even one look. Hell, even just the sound of her voice turned him and also one little thought of his sexy wife sent him to the brink of ecstasy. He remembered all the cold showers he had to take when just her name was mentioned in a conversation. She could do so many things and what she was doing now was sending him over the edge. He could take it anymore and he jumped up startling Sunshine. �Son of a bitch, Sunnie.� He grabbed her out of her seat and started kissing her. �I never understood why you insist on torturing me like that.�

�Yeah, well, the games are over, Sweets.�
�What do ya mean?� He pushed her against the doorframe and practically ripped her panties of and stuffed them in his pocket. �What�s gotten into you, Baby?� He just smiled as he undid his pants and lifted her off her feet. She wrapped her legs around him as he held her against the door frame and pushed himself inside her. �Oh fuck, Nicky.� She moaned pleasurably as they started moving in motion.
Nickolas just looked at his wife as he buried himself deeper inside her. She held onto him tighter as they continued their passion. They stayed where they were and looked at each other. Neither made a move. Neither made a sound. The only sound that could be heard was their breathing as it slowed from their moment of passion.

�So this was an appetizer then?� She just nodded. �Well I�m ready for the main course then.� He kissed her and left her go and walked back over to the table. She watched him sit down without tucking himself in and she walked over to him. She looked down at him as he smiled at her and she bit her bottom lip. Sunshine tried to ignore the aching that rushed through her body and held out her hand. �What?� He continued smiling.

�Right.� He put his hand in his pocket and pulled out her panties. He held them up and looked at them. �A sexy pair of lacey silky thongs.� She reached for them and he held her back.
