�So what do you and Nick have planned for tonight?� Drake asked as she got ready for her date with Aaron.
�Nothing,� Sunshine said lying back on the bed. �We really haven�t talked about it. Actually we haven�t talked about it.�
�Ain�t Valentine�s Day the day Nick proposed?�
�Yeah.�
�And you have nothing planned?�
�Nope, but I was thinking about surprising him with a romantic dinner for two. If you and Aaron can stay away.� Drake looked at her. �I know ya live here and all. I just��
�I understand and it�s no problem. Aaron has an all nighter planned so yeah.�
�Cool.� Sunshine sighed and looked at the ceiling. �Did ya get him anything?�
�What do you get a guy that has everything he could possibly want?�
�Besides unconditional love I don�t know.� They laughed.
�What�d you get Nick?�
�Unconditional love and support.� Drake smiled. �And me of course.� She sighed. �I think the best gift I can give Nicky is to tell him I�m pregnant and that I ended my friendship with Bradley.�
�Why does he have such a problem with Brad? I think he�s a very nice guy and he really cares about you.�
�Yeah and he wants me. Nick hates that, but Brad knows I�m completely happy with Nick and he knows how much I love him and would never leave him no matter what.�
�Not even if he beat you or cheated?� Sunshine looked at her. �I�m not saying he ever would do either to you, but I�m sure you had some thought of leaving when he broke that glass.� Sunshine looked away from her and back at the ceiling. �Sunn, you can tell me.� Drake sat next to her on the bed and Sunshine sat up. �You trusted me enough to tell me what really happened to your lip and hand. I haven�t told anyone and I won�t.�
Sunshine sighed and said, �When Nick knocked the glass from my hand and I felt it cut me it scared me. He doesn�t realize how angry he can get and the stupid shit he does. I did have a small though of leaving, but I never would. I love Nick too much to walk out on him. I also know that what he does he doesn�t do it on purpose. He would never hurt me deliberately.� Drake gave a slight nod. �I think he�s afraid of losing me and doesn�t realize what he does, ya know.�
�Yeah.�
�I love him and would never let him lose me.�
�Are you afraid of losing him?�
�At times I am, but I know I�m not going to. He loves me and lets me know it all the time.�
�You�re so lucky.�
�Yeah I know.� They laughed.
�Maybe one day I can have what you have with Nick with someone of my own.�
�You will.�
�I hope so.� Sunshine just nodded. �I�m really excited about my date with Aaron. It�s our first Valentine�s together and I know it�s going to be special.�
�It will be.�
Drake smiled and got off the bed. �Is this dress alright?�
�Yeah; ya look gorgeous.�
�Good.� Sunshine smiled. �Aaron should be here any minute.�
�So he�s picking you up then?�
�Yep.�
�That�s cool.�
�So if you and Nick weren�t married right now it would be your engagement anniversary.�
�Yep; four years ago in Paris. It�s one of the happiest days of my life.� Drake smiled. �I mean, everyday with Nick makes me happy, but that night was just so special and romantic. It was so beautiful and I can still remember it like it just happened, ya know. The stars were out, there was a full moon, ya could hear the little stream nearby and it was just so beautiful.� She smiled while remembering the night. �Nicky even got down on one knee and he was so nervous. It was the cutest and sweetest thing I�ve ever seen.�
�Sounds amazing.�
�It was, but not as amazing as that first night we made love or the moment I realized how much I was in love with him.�
�When was that?�
�It was a couple years ago when we first met. We went down to our place in Apollo Beach for some things and we sat on the beach for a few hours and we talked, kissed, fed each other strawberries, and drank champagne. It was so special and romantic and at that moment I knew I was really in love with him and it wasn�t just some stupid celebrity crush, ya know.� Drake nodded. �Of course though I played hard to get for a few years until we were in Paris then I admitted that I was in love with him and he proposed.�
Drake smiled. �You and Nick have a lot of happy memories.�
�Yeah we do.� Drake continued smiling as the doorbell rang. �That�s probably Aaron. I�ll get it and you make your grand entrance.�
�Gotcha.�
Sunshine nodded getting up and walked from the bedroom. She walked through the parlor and there was another knock. The phone started ringing and she picked it up as she continued to the door. She opened the door and said into the phone, �Hello?�
�Hey, Sunn,� Aaron said and Sunshine motioned him inside.
�I�m waiting for Nick to get back,� Sunshine said into the pone and closed the door. �I was planning on making something myself�I don�t care, Des�it�s V-Day�so you�re supposed to be with the one you love�no I�m not�I�m making dinner for Nick and me and that�s that�bye.� She turned off the phone and looked at Aaron. �Nick�s not here.�
�I�m here for Drake,� Aaron replied.
�Right.� She shook her head. �I�ll go get her.� Aaron nodded and watched Sunshine go back the hall as there was a knock.
�I got it!� He walked to the door and opened it to a delivery guy.
�Delivery for Sunshine Robinson.�
�I�ll take it.�
�Sign here, please.� He pointed to the spot and Aaron signed his name. �Thank you.�
�Thank you.� Aaron closed the door as Sunshine walked into the parlor.
�Drake will be out in a minute.�
�Alright.�
�Who was at the door?�
�Someone�s got an admirer.� Aaron smiled and handed her the box. �I bet they�re from Nick.� Sunshine just smiled and put the box on the coffee table as she sat down. Aaron sat next to her as she opened the box and picked up the card.
�They�re really beautiful.�
�Just like you.� She just continued smiling and took the card from the envelope. �From Nick?�
Sunshine looked at him and then read from the card, �We may not be together, but I�m always thinking about you. Happy Valentine�s Day�� She sighed. �Love Bradley.�
�Uh oh.�
�Yeah.� She got up and picked up the red roses then went into the kitchen.
�Hey, Aaron,� Drake said and Aaron looked as he got up.
�Wow!� Aaron said smiling. �You look gorgeous.� He kissed her.
�Thank you,� Drake said smiling. �Are you ready to go?
�Yeah; in a minute.� He walked to the kitchen and Drake followed him. �Sunn, are you all right?�
�Maybe Nicky�s right, ya know,� Sunshine said. �Maybe Brad is trying to ruin our marriage. He never sent me a note like this before.�
�What are you going to do?� Drake asked.
�You�re going to put them in the dumpster for me,� Sunshine said putting the lid back on the box and then giving it to Aaron. �This is the last thing Nick needs to see right now.�
�Are you sure it�s what you want to do?� Aaron questioned.
�Yes,� Sunshine said. �Your brother already has a lot on his mind and those roses will just��
�It is Valentine�s Day,� Drake reminded her.
�I know, but Nick�s not going to care,� Sunshine stated. �Especially if he knows they�re from Bradley.�
�Then just say they�re from me,� Aaron suggested.
�He�ll know I�m lying so just get rid of them,� Sunshine requested.
�If that�s what you want,� Aaron said.
�It is,� Sunshine assured him. They both nodded and looked at her. �You should go so you�re not late.�
�Yeah,� Drake said.
�I�ll see ya�s later.�
�Ok,� Aaron said. �Later.� Sunshine grinned and watched them walk out and then picked up the phone.
