about the RADS!

  Teachers may be your best friends or worst enemies in your high school career. It is your responsibility to 'smooth' things out before your marks suffer. 

Always treat your teachers with respect, even those that don't care about you. If you don't respect them, they won't respect you. It's as simple as that! 

   Dealing with ignorant teachers is difficult but here are a few suggestions that may help solve your problems: 

• Try to get the teacher to help you before or after class, even if you understand the material. This way the teacher will get to know you better as person and not just as "another student."
• Try 'sucking up' to the teacher by greeting him/her on your way into class everyday (eg. "Good Morning, Mr. Smith").
• Be co-operative and active in class discussions
• Ask relevant questions pertaining to the course material (but don't ask "What's the point of doing this?")
• Play the Game. If the teacher plays mind games with you, do the same to them. They're just waiting for you to lose your cool.
• Ask for a parent-teacher interview. Sometimes teachers will be intimidated by your parents' interest in your education.

Do the same if you feel that another teacher is doing a better job of teaching than yours. 

You shouldn't let a teacher (more interested in money than teaching) ruin your chances of going to university.
