Princess Diana's mother dies at 68.
3 Jun 04 - Shand Kydd, 68, was admitted to hospital near her home in Scotland several days ago. She died at her home near Oban in Scotland, Canon Donald MacKay, a Roman Catholic priest who said he was with her when she died, told The Associated Press.
The death was also confirmed by a spokesman for her son, Earl Spencer. Read online news

Dispute settled over videos of Princess.
25 July 04 - Videotapes in which Princess Diana discusses her personal life and troubled marriage have been returned to the voice coach who made them.
Peter Settelen, who was Diana's vocal trainer, had been fighting for possession of the footage with the princess's family, which claimed ownership. London's Metropolitan Police had been holding the tapes, which were made in the early 1990s and seized with other items in a 2001 raid on the home of Diana's former butler, Paul Burrell. August 11, 2004 - A diamond necklace worn by the late Diana Princess of Wales for a performance of Swan Lake at the Royal Albert Hall in June 1997, just weeks before her death, has gone on sale at an exclusive jewelry boutique near New York in the United States.

New probe into Princess Diana's driver
13 Aug 2004 - French authorities have launched a new probe into the autopsy on the chauffeur who was driving Diana, Princess of Wales, the night she died in Paris because of a challenge from his parents to the conclusion he caused the crash because he was drunk, officials said on Thursday.
The inquiry into blood tests conducted on Henri Paul, the chauffeur who died along with Diana and her boyfriend Dodi Al-Fayed in the crash on August 31, 1997, follows a long battle by Paul's parents and Dodi's multi-millionaire father, Mohamed Al-Fayed, to have the blood samples re-examined.
They claim their son was not an alcoholic and that the samples that formed the basis of the official conclusion blaming him for the deaths did not come from Paul's body.

Diana eulogy sells for $12,000.
15 Aug 04 - A SIGNED copy of the eulogy Princess Diana's brother gave at her funeral has sold for $12,000 in Brisbane. David Wood, the chief operating officer of the Mater Medical Research Institute in the city, had approached Earl Spencer to sign a copy of the speech.
Mr Wood said he had hoped the item would fetch more than $10,000 when it was auctioned at the Mater Medical Research annual dinner last night. A hospital spokeswoman said today the copy was sold to an unknown buyer for $12,000. The proceeds of the auction will help fund the Mater's research

25 Aug 04 - A new book about the humanitarian work of Diana, Princess of Wales, will be published next week to mark the seventh anniversary of her death.
Diana: The Portrait by Rosalind Coward is published on August 30, priced �30. HarperCollins said copies are expected to appear in shops from August 31 onwards.

Sculptor to create 10ft Diana tribute.
24 Aug 04 - A sculptor has begun a 10-ft tribute to Diana, Princess of Wales, providing a stark contrast to the beleaguered memorial fountain. The figure, still only a clay model, will stand 10ft high and be made of bronze. It is due to be placed on a low spiral plinth and stand in a courtyard at South Bank's County Hall in London.
