Within 7 miles of the cottage is the beach at Black Rock Sands, the picturesque village of Portmeirion (the setting for the TV show The Prisoner) and the fishing village of Porthmadog, from where the historic Ffestiniog railway begins its journey through the nearby picturesque valleys. Porthmadog has its own Tourist Information Bureau to keep you updated about all seasonal events and activities, and is also home to the Madog Motor Museum. |
| Penrhyndeudraeth is also in an ideal base to visit the seaside town of Pwllheli, the beaches of Abersoch, the villages of Beddgelert and Betws-y-Coed, Bala lake, or the mountains of Snowdonia. There are numerous friendly pubs, cafes and restaurants throughout the region, making it easy to find somewhere to eat and drink. |  |
