What is there to do nearby?
Set in the Llyn Peninsula in Gwynedd, Wales, the cottage is an ideal base for exploring the beautiful
scenery of North Wales. And if the countryside isn't enough, or you want family-friendly days out,
there are numerous attractions within a short distance.

Within 7 miles of the cottage is the beach at Black Rock Sands, the picturesque village of
Portmeirion (the setting for the TV show The Prisoner) and the fishing village of Porthmadog, from where the
historic Ffestiniog railway begins its journey through the nearby picturesque valleys. Porthmadog has its own
Tourist Information Bureau to keep you updated about all seasonal events and activities, and is also home to
the Madog Motor Museum. |
| Penrhyndeudraeth is also in an ideal base to visit the seaside town of Pwllheli, the beaches of
Abersoch, the villages of Beddgelert and Betws-y-Coed, Bala lake, or the mountains of Snowdonia. There are numerous
friendly pubs, cafes and restaurants throughout the region, making it easy to find somewhere to eat and drink. |

If you want to explore the history of the area, there are castles in Harlech and Cricceth, both within
ten miles of the cottage. Further afield are castles and forts at Gwydir, Dolwyddelan, Penryhn, Dolbadarn, and the
famous Caernarfon castle, a World Heritage Site. |
