68Pdr Smooth Bore gun Dated 1853  

Mounted on standing garrison carriage. 
This fired solid round shot or spherical exploding shell. 
They were one of the last of the smooth bore cannons and some of largest guns cast. 

This gun was used in the Crimean war and damage to the muzzle indicates in may have been at the Siege of Sevastopol. 
It is now sited on display outside of the Castle.
