Old-Hickory Schoolhouse: The planning of an event to be held there during Heritage Week in the fall will begin soon. During the March 22nd meeting, we will be gathering ideas and assigning preliminary tasks for this event to take shape. The club wants to get the community and the SRU community involved in an activity that places the spotlight on our club. We will get funding and hold our own fundraiser during the event. More to come at future meetings....
NOTICE: Adopt-A-Highway: With the coming of the warmer weather and April upon us, the SEC signs along our adopted portion of Route 8 will be going up shortly. Once the signs are in place, we may arrange our first pick-up. Please, NOTE that PennDot requires us to pick-up on a day in April and a day in October. These dates are mandated and I will pass them along as soon as I find out, via RockMail. KEEP IN MIND, anyone planning to participate MUST view PennDot's safety training video prior to picking-up! It was shown to the club at the Feb. 8th meeting. If you did not see it, you must make arrangments with me to obtain it. I cannot allow anyone who has not A) signed the group wavier and B)viewed the safety video, to participate.
Big Brothers Big Sisters: The SEC will NOT participate due to a lack of involvement and the ability to raise $125.00 per bowler before April 15th. We will try to coordinate an event with BBBS for next year.
Tee-Shirts/Certificates: Official SEC tee-shirts have been ordered and will be given to all active members, in addition to a portfolio certificate in April. They will be distrubuted accordingly--according to our attendance records. Those who do not receive a free shirt, don't be offended, you may purchase one. The tee-shirts are a way of promoting itself while saying thank you for all your hard work this year. Without you active members, the club would not stay afloat.

NOTICE: Adopt-A-Highway: Anyone planning to participate in the S.E.C.'s Adopt-A-Highway program MUST view PennDot's safety training video! It was shown to the club at the Feb. 8th meeting. If you did not see it, you must make arrangments with me to see it.
Trip to NYC Cancelled: Due to a lack of student interest, thus upping the cost, a trip to NYC will not be happening this semester. We will try something again in the fall.

SEC Photo Album Yearbook: All club members will have the opportunity to have their picture taken solo and as a group on a date TBA in February/March. The photos will appear in the SEC's new online photo album yearbook... stay tuned....
Adopt-A-Highway: The SEC has successfully adopted a 2.7 mile stretch of Route 8 in the nationwide highway beautification program.
Tutoring Opportunities: The Lowry Center is always seeking volunteers to tutor at the I-Care House, in New Castle. Transportation is usually provided at no cost. If interested, visit the Lowry Center next to McKay Ed. Bldg. for more information, and to register.
