This site began on the afternoon of February 25, 2005. I, Spencer Hendricks, proprietor of the infamous Sprayahen's St. Louis Cardinals and Other Notes on the State of Baseball, was reading through ESPN and other baseball sites, and flew into a state of rage over the world's ignorance. I was tired of my favorite team being underestimated, and especially following their awesome 105-win 2004 season. I promptly put together this modest site, churning out four articles over the first night, for the most part concentrating on content and ignoring graphics and overall web design. After all, one of the most viewed web sites on the internet is a site that has a simple, even ugly design, and I was greatly inspired by it in terms of layout and expressing honest opinions.

Before long I had told a few people I knew to check out the site, and one of them, Brian Vaughan, just happened to be interested in contributing regularly, seeing as he is also an avid baseball fan and a St. Louis Cardinal loyalist. There have been whispers here and there about other occasional contributors, but the site is manned strictly by this unstoppable baseball duo. If you were looking for background information about this stupid site or the stupid people behind it, you came to the right place.
