I would like to thank everyone for all of
their help in the success of this website , with a very
special thanks to Bruce and Christine . They are a
truly nice and warm couple. I've received many emails
from fans worldwide with infomation helping me to fill in
the gaps in the discography. I hope to make this the
ultimate music site for the ultimate artist in the
recording industry. Future plans include a complete
listing of songs written by Bruce that made smash hits
for other artists, records that Bruce appeared on, the
possibility of a new and improved website and something I
call "The Hey! Baby Project"- a list of
everyone that's ever recorded the song "Hey!
Baby"[ it will be a huge list!]. I've just
started on a list of CD's that are available by various
artists with songs penned by Bruce. Click here to see what I
have so far. Stay tuned! ~ Spike
Tapio Vaisanen

The following are emails from fellow
Bruce Channel friends and fans:
- Found myself here because,
for some reason, I found myself
remembering: 'Keep On.'
My brother and I used to play at :
'Opportunity Knocks,' a TV show in
England in the '60's...contestants would
come on and sing a song and there would
be a clapometer. Whoever got the most
claps would win the competition. I, aged
about 6, used to mime to : 'Keep On,'
using the blind pull as a microphone. It
used to amuse my parents no end. I'm so
glad you can now buy the L.P. on C.D. I'm
looking forward to hearing: 'Hey Baby
'68'
Thank you for this excellent site.
Best Wishes, Peter Astaire.
- Hello Spike and surfers. We
all love Bruce Channel and all his
records and songs. Let's give his smash
hit 'Hey Baby' -1962 a 40th birthday
party this year. Bruce put the small town
of Grapevine , Texas on the map forever.
Thanx Bruce for giving us all alot of
pleasurable memories with your great
music.
Kind regards
George
Bledsoe
- On my way to the legendary
Gordon McLendon's K I L T Radio in
Houston, I worked in Beaumont in the mid
'60's at KAYC. Bruce was the
absolute front runner of the red-hot
Southeast Texas Sound of that era.
Tell a story in a song and make people
want to listen. Bruce had that
ability then and still does.
Sincerely, Robert B. McEntire KILT Radio

- Hello, I have just visited
you Bruce Channel/Dick Lory site and I
found it very interesting. However, I
have a few additions and corrections to
the BC discography, please view the
enclosed five
scans. I hope the
information will be useful. Best regards,
Lars Stromberg http://www.geocities.com/vidrec/home.html
- Was happy to see your site
on Bruce Channel. I have known Bruce for
over 30 years and have played his records
for longer than that. Do you know if he
has an e-mail address? I have been a disc
jockey in Dallas/Fort Worth for 35 years
and the last time I saw Bruce was when we
did a show together in Dallas in 87. I
have "retired" somewhat. I do a
Friday night show in Dallas (KAAM)
and do a Saturday and Sunday night show
on our sister station in Denver, Colorado
(KLZ). Would really like to get Bruce on
the show.Thanks,Hubcap Carter
- Great site. Didn't know
about the Stand Up CD. It has to be one
of the worlds best kept secrets! I'm glad
I was able to locate a copy [used] on
internet auction. It is a prized musical
treasure in my growing record and CD
collection. I urge everyone to find a
copy if they don't already have one. ~

"Stand Up" CD can be purchased

- Looking forward to seeing
more on Bruce Channel. If there is a
better, moodier rock and roll song from
the 1960s than "Hey Baby," I
haven't heard it yet. Good luck! Doug

- Hello, I'm George Bledsoe

- Great Website! I, too, would
like to know more about Bruce Channel.
Thanks so much for the site! ~ Cherrill
- Oh, Lordy....I've known
Bruce since we were in Junior High School
in Grapevine, Texas!!!...I've always felt
Bruce wasn't given nearly enough credit
for his voice and ability,....Used to
dance to his band at the Civic Center on
Main Street in Grapevine, and went to
hear him play at The Fog in Dallas...My
sister dated his drummer, Pete.....He's
truly a nice guy....Hope to get to see
him again....Bruce, if you see
this....Emilie Schultze says
"HELLO!!!"..... I tried to get
in touch myself------all I got was my
answering machine!!!!!! P.S.....Bruce
trivia: Channel is his mother's maiden
name! Emilie Everett [email protected]
- The first I heard Hey Baby I
was knocked over. I have many of his
records and I have CD's and they are
great! Is a new record coming someday in
CD or tape? Are plans for Bruce to appear
on television shows? ~ Spone [Austria]
- "Stand Up" is
amazing! Thanks for the tip! Wonderful
website tribute. ~ Barbara M. [Baltimore
MD ]
- Spike, I remember a Bruce
Channel song from about 1968 called
"Keep On." I believe it was the
follow up to "Mr. Bus Driver."
W.A.Y.S. in Charlotte played both of
those songs. ~ Brant Hart
Long overdue:
Repertoire has released the CD "Keep
on" ( With 5 Bonus Tracks) See link below.
