    A free link exchange service, buttonXchange.com makes use of 88-by-31 pixel buttons, rather than full-sized
    banners. Simply sign up and submit your button and it'll be displayed randomly on other participants' pages.
    buttonXchange.com offers real-time statistics, so you can see how your button is performing. They offer a
    selection of blank buttons that you may use (you'll need to add your own text, which you can easily do in any
    graphics program) NO ADULT SITES!


  • Click2Lead 
    Looking for an affiliate program for your Web site? Click2Lead offers a good roundup of programs that
    generate revenue, either on a pay-per-click or on a pay-for-lead basis. Lots of categories are listed here,
    including automotive, books, business, clothing, family, food, games, shopping and more.


  • Cyberbounty 
    A solid, free affiliate program, Cyberbounty pays you for displaying their sponsors' banners on your site.
    There are plenty of good offers to choose from here (many of which we've not seen elsewhere). Cyberbounty
    also supports mailing lists and E-zines.


  • PowerExchange 
    A promising new free banner exhange program to help you promote your site. PowerExchange offers a
    4:5 ratio and offers you the chance to target your banners. They offer real-time traffic reports and ready-made
    banners, if you don't have one made up already. Your banner here will be 468X60 pixels.



  • Banner Tips 
    Just signing up for a banner service is only a small part of promoting your site. In order to draw hits with your
    banner, you need an effective design. This site is the best we've seen for offering tips on making a banner that
    people will want to click on. They even display a list of the Web's most successful banners, so you can get
    an idea of what works.


  • Link-Me Banner/Reciprocal Links Exchange 
    One of the best ways to promote your site is through reciprocal links. This resource is a good place to start.
    This site also lists over 500 free-for-alls, which are basically bulletin boards that you can add your site to
    (and believe it or not, they do pull in traffic).


  • The Banner Generator 
    If you subscribe to a banner service, you'll need to make up a banner, which this site provides for free.

  • WebSite Designs Banner Exchange 
    Here's a new banner exchange that offers a generous 3:2 ratio (meaning that for every three banners shown
    on your site, your own banner is shown twice on other members sites). Banner sizes here must by 400
    by 60 pixels and no larger than 12 kilobytes. They offer 500 free banner impressions (credits) for all
    members after thirty days.

  • The Net One 
    If you're looking to build traffic on your site, this handy directory is an excellent place to get listed. One
    advantage to this directory is that once you submit your site here, it'll appear instantly. They also offer a
    free HTML mail newsletter that features lots of useful Web site promotion tips, tools and articles.


  • LinkTrader 
    This banner exchange offers a higher-than-average 70-to-30 ratio. Banners must be 400 by 50 pixels. Our
    results with this banner service were less than ideal. Despite the higher ratio, we had few hits through
    LinkTrader than through Link Exchange, using the same banner. Your own mileage may vary. Incidentally,
    LinkTrader recently began offering free E-mail accounts, as well.

  • CGISpy.com 
    This marvelous Webmaster's resource offers a great way for you to add interactive tools and features to your
    site. CGISpy.com offers free ad-supported remote CGI script hosting for all kinds of useful Web site
    enhancements. Features here include classified ads, counters, jump boxes, guestbooks, message boards
    and loads more.


  • HostedScripts.com 
    Have you ever wanted to implement a CGI script on your site, but you don't have CGI access on your server?
    This site provides the solution: they offer loads of free CGI scripts and they'll host them for you, for free.
    Scripts here include a message board, a free-for-all page, a mailing list, random link, a form mailer, a jump
    box, a chat board and more.


  • Free Search Engine Code 
    Copy and paste this code into your Web page to have a fully functional search engine.


  • Web-Scripts.co.uk 
    This site offers a good selection of original free Perl-based CGI scripts. The scripts here include text
    counters, random image displays, form-to-E-mail routines, password protection and more.


  • Zach's Archive 
    This helpful free Webmaster's resource hosts a number of CGI and Perl scripts for free, including scripts that
    run guestbooks, form mailers, self-grading quizzes and polls. You may use these scripts for free and have
    the option of downloading them or letting Zach host them for you.


  • Freedback.com 
    This outstanding, pioneering service is perfect for Webmasters who'd like to add interactive forms to their site,
    but don't know a scripting language. Just follow the easy instructions here and Freedback.com will generate
    a custom form for your site. Several other similar form generators have emerged in the wake of
    Freedback.com (formerly known as FreeForm), but this service is still the best of its kind.


  • Form Fetch 
    Use Form Fetch to get visitor feedback directly from your site. No CGI or HTML programming knowledge
    required and sets up in minutes using a ‘HTML Form Wizard.’ Fast and easy.


  • FormMail.To 
    A handy free service that lets you easily create customized E-mail forms for visitor feedback, surveys, orders,
    etc. Here, you can create an E-mail form with any input fields you need, including pull-down selection lists
    and checkboxes. You can have all your data validated for proper content and format. Options include
    password-protected forms and forms that can only be used from registered page links.

    Need a guestbook for your site? This easy-to-use service lets you create a custom, reliable guestbook for
    your visitors.


  • 012guestbook 
    This site offers a customizable free guestbook service with many handy features, including a profanity filter
    and E-mail notification. It's a good way to get feedback from your visitors. It's easy to set up: all you need to
    do is cut and paste a snippet of coding to your site.


  • Dreambook Guestbook 
    This free service lets you completely customize your guestbook to match your site. In normal editing mode,
    you can select from a variety of templates. If you switch into advanced mode, you can edit the HTML directly
    to make your own custom forms. You decide what fields appear in your guestbook, and how they are
    arranged. You can even ask your visitors questions and create complex questionaires.



  • TheGuestbook.com 
    This is a free guestbook service, which is administered in Sweden (but hosted in the U.S.). Offers many
    features and is highly configurable. It's supported by advertising (a banner is placed at the top of each
    guestbook). View an example here.



  • BeSeen.com 
    This is a good, up-and-coming free guestbook server. Easy to set up and you can customize the way it
    looks. Note: this service is not available for porn-related sites. Here's an example of their service.



  • guestGEAR 
    Part of the Lycos empire, guestGEAR is far the largest free guestbook server, with over 2 million users.
    Just sign up and they'll E-mail the coding to cut & paste onto your page and you're ready to go. guestGEAR
    has added a number of nifty new features to their service, such as visitors' stats and a form that lets you
    automatically E-mail everyone who's signed your guestbook. There's also an extensive control panel that
    offers many features, such as message filtering, profanity checking, etc. Besides English, guestGEAR is
    also offered in German, Italian and Swedish. Here's an example.


  • Web Diner Guestbook Templates 
    Add some style to your site's guestbook with the cool templates offered here. Lots of neat designs. Usage
    requires a linkback. Their guestbooks require a mailto: form to receive responses from your visitors.

    This solid, free URL redirection service replaces your lengthy site address with a short URL, such as
    http://flash.to/YourSite. A bonus to using this service is that, even if you switch hosts, your URL will
    remain the same. Flash.To will also submit your site to 10 search engines, for free.


  • Zwap.to 
    Does your Web site have a long, hard-to-remember URL? Sign up with this free URL redirection service and
    you can replace your cumbersome address with a short, snappy URL such as zwap.to/YourName.
    What's more, your URL will always remain the same; even if you switch Web hosters.


  • CyberPointer.com 
    One of the best free URL redirection services around, CyberPointer.com offers lots of handy features,
    including path forwarding, URL cloaking, mail forwarding, dynamic DNS and more. Unlike many services
    of this type, CyberPointer.com offers you a subdomain address and your URL will be
    hereYourName.cyberpointer.com.


  • BipX.com 
    This handy free URL redirection service gives your site a shorter address, such as YourPage.bipx.com.
    The service also offers handy features, such as path forwarding and URL cloaking.


  • Doze URL Redirection Service 
    A reliable, free URL redirection service that offers your site a short, easy-to-remember Web address,
    such as http://www.YourSite.doze.to.


  • HotRedirect 
    This service offers free URL redirection; free unlimited E-mail aliases; a free real-time page tracker; free

    It's every Webmaster's worst nightmare: your site crashes (and if you're not watching it at the time, you're
    not even aware of it). This unique service gives you peace of mind. Netwhistle.com constantly monitors your
    site and alerts you with detailed error information (via your E-mail or pager) if your site ever goes down.

  • HitBox 
    This constantly improving free Java-based Web page tracking service has recently undergone a major
    upgrade. HitBox now offers much more data about your visitors, including valuable referral information
    (when your visitors arrived, where they came from, etc.). What's more, your stats are password-protected,
    unlike some free tracking services out there. HitBox is easy to set up; simply fill out a form and then cut
    and paste their HTML code to your pages and you're all set.


  • Mind-it 
    Do you wish you could notify your visitors when the content on your pages changes? Then try out this free
    service. Just register your page(s) with Mind-it and you'll receive coding to place on your site, which produces
    a form. When your visitors enter their E-mail address in the form, then they'll automatically be notified any
    time your page is updated.


  • WebTracker 
    This major free service offers a number of goodies. You get data on what browser your visitors are using, the
    operating system they're running, and you can tell if they're repeat visitors. You can also find out what days
    of the week are hot and find out what time of the day visitors come to your site. WebTracker data is updated
    in real-time. There's never the need to wait for a log file update; you may view your stats any time.

    This is a free service for analyzing traffic to your Web site. WebSTAT.com offers loads of info on your traffic
    that you can view with convenient, easy-to-read graphs and tables. Easy to set up: just put a snippet of code
    on your page and you're all set.


  • GoStats.com 
    This solid free Web page tracker offers lots of useful information about your site's traffic, including referrals,
    traffic trends and search engine data. The tracker is easy to set up; simply fill out a form and then cut and
    paste a few lines of HTML onto your pages.


  • Site Tracker 
    If you're looking to build traffic on your site, you really can't have enough details about your visitors. And
    Site Tracker delivers detailed information in spades. Using it, you'll be able to determine a huge amount of
    data on your visitors: where they came from, what their screen resolution, browser and OS is and even how
    long they spent browsing your site. You also get valuable information about your site as well (page loading
    times, etc.) Site Tracker keeps your stats handy for seven days. It's easy to set up, too. Just cut & paste a
    snippet of code and you're ready.


  • WebSite Designs: Free Counters 
    This site offers a number of different counter styles to choose from. Just select the design you want and fill
    out the short form to get one for your page.


  • FreeStats 
    - Nice free stats program that offers lots of useful data. Besides telling you how many hits your page is
    getting, it will tell you how many unique visitors your page gets every day/month and shows you who they
    were. It also tells you such useful info as how many unique visitors you got, what countries they came from
    and more.


  • LinkCounter.com 
    Have you ever wondered how many clicks your site is sending to an affiliate program or linkback partner?
    This unique free service monitors the number of clicks your links are getting. It also monitors internal links
    so you'll know where your visitors are going.


  • Extreme Tracking 
    This wonderful free service from the Netherlands has every stat you could ask for, intelligently broken down
    by category. This JavaScript-enhanced tracker offers you loads of information. You get totals by Web site,
    search engine, E-mail, Usenet, etc. and even can find out what keywords your visitors used to locate you.
    See a sample of their stats here. On top of everything else, Extreme Tracking is one of the fastest-loading
    trackers around (although the service's stats page can be slow to access at times).


  • NedStat Basic 
    Solid free tracker with all kinds of detailed stats, including what page referred your visitors to you---a essential
    feature that's rare among free tracking services. NedStat is now also offering a month trial period for its more
    advanced and detailed NedStat Pro. NedStat also offers a version in Dutch. "NedStat Basic," their free
    service, is intended only for individual home pages.


  • WebsiteTracker.com 
    Here's a useful tracking service that offers detailed stats about who is visiting your Web site. Unlike many
    free trackers, this service doesn't burden your page with a banner. You can retrieve customized reports
