| The history of the Elephant Hotel and its builder, Hachaliah Bailey, is reflected in this current exhibition which opened in Spring 2006. It is located on the first and third floor of the Elephant Hotel. Prepared by Town and Society Curator Terry Ariano, the exhibit features photographs, paintings, artifacts and other ephemera from the Society�s collection. It is being mounted as part of the Society�s 50th anniversary celebration this year in honor of the National Landmark Designation of the Elephant Hotel. The Elephant Hotel was designated a National Historic Landmark by the U.S. Secretary of the Interior on April 5, 2005. |
