*NSYNC Nominated for 3 Grammy Awards

With No Strings Attached having been announced as the highest selling album of the year, it is no surprise that when the Grammy nominations were announced on Wednesday, January 3 *NSYNC received three of them. "Bye Bye Bye" was nominated for both Record of the Year and Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal and No Strings Attached was nominated for Pop Vocal Album. Congratulations and good luck to *NSYNC! The 43rd Annual Grammy Awards will be broadcast from the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA on February 21, 2001 on CBS at 8pm, EST. *NSYNC at Superbowl

*NSYNC will perform along with Aerosmith at halftime of Superbowl XXXV. The superbowl will be played in Tampa, FL on January 28 and broadcast on CBS. The Backstreet Boys are scheduled to perform the National Anthem.

This I Promise You on TRL

TIPY made it's debut at Number 2 on TRL on Friday, October 27. The video remained at Number 2 until one week later when on Friday, November 3 an *NSYNC fan answered more trivia about the guys than a BSB fan did about those guys to win the Number 1 spot for TIPY. *NSYNC Go Out to the Ballpark

On Tuesday, October 24, *NSYNC sang the National Anthem for Game 3 of the 2000 World Series at Shea Stadium in New York. To see pictures from the world series, click HERE.

After a short delay for editing, the video for "This I Promise You" made its premiere on TRL on Thursday, October 26.

17-Year Old Plots to Murder *NSYNC

According to the newspaper the Nashville Tennesean, the mother of a 17-year old boy turned her son into police after finding a folder which contained detailed plans to murder the members of *NSYNC at their Atlanta concert. The boy is currently undergoing psychiatric evaluation. To see the newspaper headline and article, click HERE

On Tuesday, October 24 (my birthday, woo-hoo!) the Live From Madison Square Garden video was released. A couple months later on December 12, the "Making the Tour" video will be released.

November Dates to Remember

Beginning November 10, PlanetHollywood.com will be auctioning off the hiking boots that Justin Timberlake wore on the last tour. Start saving now, all proceeds go to charity.

The Second Leg of the NSA Tour Kicks Off

*NSYNC resumed their No Strings Attached Tour on October 17, in Charlotte, NC. Tickets for most of the fall concerts sold out almost immediately as this leg of the tour promises to be as exciting and popular as the summer leg.

*NSYNC Wins 3 Video Music Awards

Eminem and *NSYNC were each nominated for six MTV video music awards and each musical act took home three awards. *NSYNC earned themselves moon men for Best Pop Video, Best Choreography in a Video, and Viewer's Choice - the only category voted on by the fans.

Fall Tour Schedule

The tour dates have increased to 30 as the multiple dates originally announced and then withdrawn have reappeared. Tickets for all shows went on sale on Saturday, September 16 and sold out very quickly. To see the tour dates, go to schedule.

"It's Gonna Be Me" was retired from TRL on Wednesday, August 25, as that was it's 65th day on the countdown - the video went out at Number 1!

With 2,415,859 copies sold in its first week of release, No Strings Attached became the first album in the history of Soundscan to sell more than 2 million copies in a single week. It shattered the previous record held by the Backstreet Boys' Millennium. In its second week, NSA sold another 811,000 copies to reach over 3.2 million sold. The third week yielded another 533,000 copies sold to bring the total to about 3.8 million. Fourth week total sales were 422,000 to keep NSA on top of the Billboard chart. In its fifth week, NSA sold another 650,000 copies to remain at the top of the charts! Sixth week sales were only 248,000 copies, but it was enough to keep NSA at Number 1. After its May 16th release,the highly anticipated new album from Britney Spears kept NSA out of the top spot, but it was an incredible run! With good reviews coming in from fans across the US one thing is certain, No Strings Attached promises to be one of the biggest albums of the year 2000.
