Snape's Comments on Students

Student name: Harry Potter
House: Gryffindor
Subject: Potions
Comments: Potter certainly takes after his father; he seems to have no regard whatsoever for authority and were it my decision I make no hesitation in saying I would have him expelled. Luckily for Potter, that power does not lie in my hands. He is adequate at Potions although his insufferable arrogance and impertinance undermines any semblage of ability.
Neville Longbottom
It has been many years since I have met a student so totally devoid of talent as Longbottom. No doubt you are aware that he melts at least one cauldron a week, and the inconvenience this causes is only mitigated by his willingness to please, or his complete lack of backbone, I cannot decide which. All that remains to be said is that Longbottom's toad has more magical ability and it would not surprise me in the slightest if he were a squib.
Hermione Granger
Miss Granger would do well to remember who is taking the class, her or myself. She is an intolerable know-it-all, and would find it greatly to her benefit if she kept her head down, not hissing instructions to her fellow students. Her only saving grace is her diligence.
Ronald Weasley
Weasley would do better to dissociate himself from Potter and learn some respect for his teachers, then perhaps he would be more successful at school. Otherwise, were it not a drain on your resources I would recommend that you remove him from Hogwarts. With regard to Potions, he is a careful worker although he would go furthur if he applied himself and did not indulge in inter-house warfare with Malfoy in my lessons.
