�was established in 1998 by Monica Hogue and Chrysa Wyland with the blessings of the late Msgr. Thomas Maher, former pastor of the Basilica of St. Michael.
Meetings are held on Thursday mornings during the school year from 9:45 to 11:30 a.m. in the Basilica basement. Members need not belong to the parish. There is a nominal fee of one dollar per meeting to keep up with art supplies, etc.
Often times, moms who are at home with young children are known to say, �I would just like to have a conversation with an adult!� At times these moms feel isolated from others because they are not a part of the outside work force. We wanted to create and provide an environment for meeting other moms in the same situation as themselves.
The mothers are not the only ones who benefit! Because the parents and children attend meetings together, the children have the opportunity to interact with others their own age thus providing the all-important socialization that children need as they grow and get ready for the school setting.
We have a large selection of donated toys on hand as well as a planned activity for the children during our meetings. The moms take turns leading the activity each week and a snack is also provided. We celebrate the holidays with parties and have an annual �End of the Year� pizza party at a local park.
Contrary to our name, we have had members who were grandparents, child-care providers, and/or dads! All are welcome!
