May 26, 2000 -- Added a new recipe to the Kitchen,
for Seasoned Steak and added a link to
Heartland Carnival to our Memberships page.
May 23, 2000 -- The big news is that I've graduated and become a
Community Leader here at GeoCities. That means that you can contact me when you
are having trouble with any aspect of maintaining your homestead here at
Y!GeoCities and I will try to help. As a reminder, my e-mail is [email protected].

I noticed this morning that my Guestbook
wasn't working. Rather than throw all the old entries away, I've archived them
and created a new Guestbook page. So, if you've signed the book since February
of 2000 and your entry didn't show up, please sign
it again. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but I didn't realize something
was wrong until somebody complained. You can still view the old entries on Page
Two of the Guestbook which you can access from the Guest
Room.
May 21, 2000 -- Skipped last week because of Mother's Day, but I added
a few new handy links for GeoCities homesteaders and a GeoCities search box to my office
page and updated the Family News page. I
also made a few cosmetic changes here and there.
May 7, 2000 -- I mentioned a few weeks ago that I was thinking of
dropping the FrontPage theme. Although you may not be able to tell directly,
that is exactly what I did. The graphics are all new from the ground up. If
you're interested in such things, the graphics were created using PaintShop Pro
6.0. We are using a cascading style sheet, but I have tried to make it work with
Netscape 4.x and newer as well as Internet Explorer. I added an entire
page of new photos from our trip to Enchanted Village a couple of weeks ago
and changed some of the links on the News
Headlines page.
I also spent a little time checking links and such and fixed any broken ones
I found. Which reminds me, if you find a broken link, please let me know. You

May 5, 2000 -- Updated the Family News page and added a few new recipes to the Kitchen.

April 30, 2000 -- We have passed the Heartland Review. I got a
very complimentary review of our site and was relieved to see that there were
only about half a dozen bad links. I have updated the Family News page as well.
I have fixed a few things that were causing Netscape users to have a different
view of our pages. I'm also seriously considering dropping the FrontPage theme
idea altogether since I discovered that things like the background aren't coming
our properly that way. We'll see... March 2000
March 24, 2000 -- We've been added to Heartland Select and have
joined the Heartland Select web ring. I also had to do a little cosmetic fixing
to the Playroom pages because FrontPage took it upon itself to re-insert the
shared borders I had removed when I created those pages. Oh well... nothing's
perfect and FrontPage does save a lot of time when it comes to things like the
navigation bars. March 6, 2000 -- We're just about done with a complete re-design. I've
upgraded the site to use Microsoft FrontPage 2000 and created my own FrontPage
2000 theme. I hope you like the results although I'm still fighting with the
fact that the background texture doesn't seem to show up in Netscape Navigator. The photo album has been completely
reorganized and I've added a couple of new recipes. Check out the office
for a new HTML tutorial, called "Create a Photo Album with FrontPage 2000". I've also updated the tutorial, "There's
No Place Like Home" Finally, I added some links to good reference sites
to the Library. The Guest
Room now has current headlines to entertain our non-family visitors. Got any
