This is my Virtual Notebook for "Web Page Design For Beginners" to practice tags and take notes about the lessons.
I am very excited about learning HTML. I think I would be overwhelmed if I had not studied a little bit about HTML on my own last year. There is so much to learn about all at once. I do, however, enjoy learning new things.
Anything concerning computers has always fascinated me. I started out back in the 1980's by taking a computer course as a math elective. I used DOS to write up math programs on IBM computers. Some people think I'm nuts when I say HTML fascinates me.
I learned several bits of new information from this week's lessons. First, I learned about using the DOCTYPE declaration to let browsers know how to interpret my page. Second, I learned how to turn on the word wrap. I always wondered where that was located. Third, I learned how to create a reusable template. This will really help me a lot so that I don't have to keep typing the same things again and again.Last, I learned that leaving open space lines adds bytes to my page and can slow down the loading process.
