We
here at SmashTheButton are proud to offer the
following: Console Repair, Console Modification, and even Fabrication of
Accessories, Designs, and Personal Touches to your home video gaming units!
Something
different than most service sites on the net is the inclusion of
agreements/contracts. This is done
for both your safety and our safety.
There are a lot of fly-by-night operations present on the internet that
drag you in with claims that are too good to be true, and before you know it,
you’re out an expensive gaming console. We here at SmashTheButton
understand this fear and so we’ve devised a system that will leave a ‘paper
trail’ so that both you (the consumer) and SmashTheButton
(the service provider) will be protected from fraud. All policies are stated up front and
absolutely nothing will be done
without your consent. If you have any questions about the
policies or anything you find on the website, please feel free to ask by
contacting [email protected].
How it works:
Step 1:
1.) For Repair, simply
email us at [email protected]
with the following information:
A.) Your Name and Address (We currently are only supporting US and
B.) The Type of System (PS2, XBOX, Gamecube, Dreamcast, etc.)
C.) The extent of the problem (Disc Read
Error, no power, won’t open, etc.)
D.) Any additional information you may deem
useful to us (perhaps like you attempted to open and fix it yourself, etc.)
NOTE:
Please make sure you have read the following and are prepared to agree with
them if we accept your system for repair: Pricelist and Repair Agreement
2.) For Modification,
simply email us at [email protected]
with the following information:
A.) Your Name and Address (We currently are only supporting US and
B.) The Type of System (PS2, XBOX, Gamecube, Dreamcast, etc.)
C.) The modification you would like
performed to your system.
D.) Any additional information you may deem
useful to us (perhaps like you attempted to open and fix it yourself, etc.)
NOTE:
Please make sure you have read the following and are prepared to agree with
them if we accept your system for repair: Pricelist and Modification Agreement
3.) For Fabrication,
simply email us at [email protected]
with the following information:
A.) Your Name and Address (We currently are only supporting US and
B.) The Type of System (PS2, XBOX, Gamecube, Dreamcast, etc.)
C.) The modification/fabrication you would
like performed to your system.
D.) Any additional information you may deem
useful to us (special notes, etc.)
NOTE:
Please make sure you have read the following and are prepared to agree with
them if we accept your system for repair: Pricelist and Repair Agreement. A Fabrication will be treated as a
Repair as far as Contracts are concerned.
Step 2:
After
we have received your information, we will contact you concerning your request
for service and give you the address to ship your items to. At this point, you will print out the
documents requested of you and mail them with your system. For systems, please only mail the core
unit unless otherwise asked. We
have more than plenty testing stations with the appropriate connections for
most systems. Once we receive your
items, we will email you stating that we have received the items and that work
will begin immediately (this is of course all documents requested are signed
and properly filled out.)
Step 3:
Once
work is done on your unit, we will email you again with a price quote taken
directly from our pricelist at the time
you requested our service. If
we do increase prices while we have your system, you will only be held
accountable for what you agreed to pay in the initial transaction. If we decrease prices, you will be charged the new price.
Either way, it works out for you, the consumer.
Please
note that currently, SmashTheButton only accepts PAYPAL payment. If you cannot pay via Paypal’s service, it is in your best interest to not
enter into an agreement with us.
An
initial request for payment will be sent out on the day of completion. A second notice will be sent no earlier
than five days after the completion of the work. A third and final notice will be sent out no earlier than 15 days after the
completion of the work and no earlier than 10 days after the second notice is
sent out. If no payment is received
from you by 30 days past the final
notice date, your system will become the property of SmashTheButton. This information is also included in a
document that must be signed and completed before we commence work on your
system. That document can be found
here.
Once
we receive payment, your system will be mailed back to you no later than 48
hours (2 Business Days) after payment is sent. You will be sent tracking information
and your package will be insured for more than likely well above its
worth. Once the package leaves our
hands, we are no longer responsible for it (except in the case of our 30-Day
warranty.) In other words, if the
courier loses your package, you’ll need to discuss it with the
courier. We will attempt to help
out in any way if this does happen, but again, we are not in any obligation to
replace a package that is lost by the courier. Our courier of choice at this time is
either the United States Postal Service (USPS) or the United Parcel Service
(UPS).
Step 4:
Play
games and be happy! That’s
what we want most for gamers.
Support your software authors and play the games they create for you. Never pirate games because this is a
crime and not only that, it makes our games cost more in the long run.

something we can do, we’ll add your system to the list!
