Here are all the modes for the single player mode

Grand Prix
Here you must race 8 computers around a set of 4 courses. The rank you get determins how many poiunts you get. The raceer with the most points is the winner. There are 2 series(each with 4 Grand Prix ), the Nitro and Retro series. Heres the point break down

There is also nuberous unlockables to get if you can muster up a gold in all 4 cups of the series

Complete 1 50cc series	Unlocks Daysi
Complete both 50cc series	Unlock Dry Bones
Complete 1 100cc series	Unlock 3 karts for each character
Complete both 100cc series	Unlock Waluigi
Complete 1 150cc	Unlocks 7 karks for each characters
Complete both 150cc	Unlock Mirror class
Complete 1 Mirror series	Unlock R.O.B.
Complete both Mirror series	All karts are unlocked(anyone can use any kart

NOTE: in order to get the last to cup of each series, you must beat the first 2.

Time Trial
Her eyou can race around the course with no compotion in order to see how fast you can beat it. The game will automaticly save your ghost for your best time.
Sending ghost Data
If you have a friend in Mario Kart, you can send him your ghost data.
Staff Ghost
If you do good enough on a race you may be able to challange the staff ghost for that course. Beware as they are tough.

VS.
Here you can play the computers on any course without the hassel of the Grand Prix. Here you can play them on your own terms. You can also play a team race.

Battle
It finnally happened. Battle mode is now playable in single-player. You can make up your own rules and play team matches. there are 2 modes: Ballon Battle and Shine Runners

Mission Mode
Here you can play missions. In it you must complete a set requirement within the time limit. There is also a boss at the end. There are 6 mission sets but if you muster up at least a star on all the missions, you'll unlock set 7.
