The South  Rises
"Alaina!"  Gwen shrieks.  "What!  I didn't say anything."  she says from the kitchen.

"You know I must say, you don't look old enough to have daughter that age."  Dean says to Gwen.

"I'm not.  Alaina is.....adopted.  Sort of."  she laughs softly.  "So, you just move here huh?  Where are you from."

"Korton, Mississippi.  It's a small town.  But I loved it there."  he says as he looks into Gwen's dark chocolate eyes.

"If you loved it there than why did you leave?"  Gwen asks staring back softly into his eyes.

He breaks his focus on her.  "My mother is very sick.  And the only hospital that would help her is here.  So, I brought here."  he looks back at Gwen.  "My father died a few years back and I'm all she has."

"He's perfect."  Gwen thinks.  "Hey, I heard that!"  Alaina says.  "Sorry.  I forgot I still had the link on."  Gwen thinks to herself again.

Driving down the street, Amy turns into a parking lot.  As she get out of her beat up old car she looks over at the brand new mustand convertable parked next to her.

"Looks like Mimi got a new car.  Or at least her daddy got her one."  she slams her car door shut.  "I hate rich people!"

Amy walks inside and up to the elevator to see the out of order sign.  "You're sh**ing me.  Damn it!"  she looks at the stairs.  "This is not my day."

Amy approaches her apartment door to find smoke billowing out from undernieth it.  "Oh, s***!"  she kicks down the door and rushes in to see Mimi ( her roomate) with a tray of what can only be discribed as charcoal cookies.  "I think I left them in to long."  Mimi says to her.  "Ya think?"

After the smoke clears Amy walks up to Mimi.  "I thought we talked about you using the stove."  "Well, I just...."   Amy glares at her.  "Give me your hand."  "But I..."  Mimi gives Amy her hand and Amy swiftly swats it.  "Oww!"  "Bad Mimi!  No!  Bad!  Don't play with the stove.  That's a bad girl."  after scolding Mimi Amy retires to her room.  "Stupid roomates."

Back at Gwen.

"Well, it was nice to meet you Dean."  Gwen says as the walks him to the front door.  "Really nice."

"I hope we can get together again real soon.  Maybe for coffee?  Say Saturday?"  He says to her as she opens the door for him.

"That sounds great.  I'll see you then."  Gwen closes the door as he leaves the house.  "Wow, he's a real......"  Her body begins to jerk, her eyes roll into the back of her head, and she falls to the ground.

"Oh God!  Gwen!"  Alaina rushes to her side.  "What is it this time?"

It's dark out, the street lights are barely producing enough light to see in front of you.  A girl turns into a dark ally, a trash bag in her hand.  She's being followed by a figure dressed in all black.  A bright flash of light is seen in the ally, and a loud scream is heard.

Gwen's body grows still for a moment.  She jumps up, scaring Alaina, and starts for the door.

"What did you see?"  Alaina asks as she follows Gwen out the door.  "Gwen?  What is it?"

"I'm not sure.  But I'm not going to let that girl find out the hard way."  She and Alaina jump into her van and drive away.

Jade and Priest sit in the bagel shop sipping on coffee.  "So, how well do you know this town?"  Priest asks.

"Like the back of my hand.  Why?"  Jade replies.

"I need to find someone.  Don't worry it's not to kill them.  It's just personal."  Priest takes another drink of his black coffee.

"Give me a name I can give you an address."  Jade says leaning back in his chair.  "One question first.  What do you mean by personal?"

Alaina looks over at gwen from the passenger side of the van.  "How long are we going to just sit here?"

Gwen faces Alaina.  "Til I see the girl from my vision.  So, just chill, ok,  It's almost dark now.  I'm sure she'll be out any minute."

"Fine."  Alaina says agrivated.  She crosses her arms.  "Got any more gum?"

Gwen turns away from Alaiana to look back at the ally way.  "So, is that a no?"  Alaina says to her.
